Dog Poet Transmitting.......

May your noses always be cold and wet.

The more of the complexity of it all that I see and the more I am aware that the whole of artificial life is manipulated by magic, the more grateful I am that there is an ineffable. I recognize that I am just a microscopic cog in a massive watch, whose totality of being cannot be seen. It is so big that linear perspective is impossible. It’s like trying to see over the horizon line of the Earth from any point. Due to the peculiar OS math required for multidimensional awareness of the inner and outer world, it is not possible to ever plumb the extent of ourselves, or the universe, which extends outward to whatever point it extends. I’m just talking nonsense though, reaching for some means or medium to say whatever it is I have to say, not that I know what that is yet (grin).

I expect it has something to do with magic. There are a lot of different kinds of magic running around. There’s Hoodoo, Vodun and Juju; Voodoo, Shamanism, Black Magic, White Magic and these are only a very few. Listing only the indigenous forms would take awhile. A large portion of the modern world is presently under the pernicious spell of Reverse Kabala and the hypnotic spell of all kinds of subtle and not so subtle programming. I don’t know how important any of this really is. It comes down to what one can and cannot accomplish; what one should or should not do.

One of the most useful assets of personal wisdom is the capacity to know one’s limitations and to not seek to operate outside of them. For most people, this is something you learn at bitter cost. Certainly the aging process will teach you a thing or two. It will certainly teach you the value of whatever it is you spent your time involved in. Yeah... we have limitless potential, that doesn’t mean we are in a position to exercise it. Things like this always remind me of that exchange from Henry the 4th, which coincidentally includes another of my favorite statements as well, in the last portion;

GLENDOWER
I can call spirits from the vasty deep.

HOTSPUR
Why, so can I, or so can any man;
But will they come when you do call for them?

GLENDOWER
Why, I can teach you, cousin, to command
The devil.

HOTSPUR
And I can teach thee, coz, to shame the devil
By telling truth: tell truth and shame the devil.
If thou have power to raise him, bring him hither,
And I'll be sworn I have power to shame him hence.
O, while you live, tell truth and shame the devil!

Hence, The Devil’s title as, ‘Father of Lies’ and also that power we all possess to send him off and further... the assurance that the devil only has the power you confer upon him. If you exist and operate in the dimensions of the devil, you fall under his authority. If you live outside that dimension and draw your inspiration and operating drive from a higher source then... you fall under that authority.

Let’s imagine for a moment that you have a drinking problem or an unfortunate relationship with one of the less savory drugs. During your active period in this area of activity, you have regular associates and regular haunts. Let’s say some event or another causes you to step away from this behavior. One thing you will notice is that all of your former associates disappear. In a short time you might not even remember any of them. Your dimension of being has changed and you’re not who you were before. You were also not who you are before, you might still not be; probably aren’t. Positive change of any kind does not automatically, mean greater awareness. It means different awareness. One might say you are better off no longer drinking or subsisting on Oxycodone but even that is not necessarily true. A jerk is still a jerk, regardless of a fuel change.

The devil exists to challenge and to test you, while you remain in the parameters of his influence. So long as you are the plaything of certain appetites and desires you are an object lesson in expression at one point or another of the demonstration being made.

Independent thinkers often have a serious aversion to religion. Intelligent people can hardly avoid having an aversion to religion but... let’s remember that intelligence does not come attended by morality or spiritual discernment. Psychopaths are generally intelligent, even if it is actually no more than levels of cleverness. A complete human being is a marvelous construction. It is a truly unfortunate thing that there are so few of them resident on the planet at this time.

People have certain abilities and their whole ego focus is directed at them, while ignoring their drawbacks and shortcomings. They think their few talents are more than enough to make their less attractive features attractive. They get born with looks and they rely on them, blissfully unaware that there are millions more like them, with the same short shelf life. They can sing, they can dance and they can design buildings, chart complex economic courses and manipulate laws for lucre. Some can do all of these things but… the things they cannot do... are far more than the totality of all they can do and none of these things make them a human being.

There are two things I can think of, right off the bat, that every sane and decent person should cultivate as indispensable parts of themselves; humility and integrity. With these two in your possession, you are in fine position to acquire all the rest of what you might need. Good qualities are magnetic. They attract other good qualities and some of them, like compassion, humility, integrity, bring their associates when they arrive.

It’s not my job to tell people whether they should or should not slug it out in the marketplace; live in a city, not live in a city, get married and have children (in this world of the moment) or not do this. Each and every person has to consider these things for themselves. What I do have to say is that you are going to be confronted with choices every single day. Some of them are going to be difficult choices. I could not imagine facing existence without an unshakeable reliance upon the ineffable and without an activated intuition. I recognize that there are those whose preferences extend to weapons, large financial resources, secure facilities and bodyguards in attendance and all the varied and many things upon which people rely. I prefer one thing to rely on and it is none of these.

Obviously, there are many who do not see things as I do. They are certainly not going to put their desires and ambitions in the hands of some inexplicable and possibly imaginary force which, at the end of the day, may be in opposition to their ambitions and desires. Self interest... self interest; it sets the tone for everything, however, your greatest self interest can only be fulfilled through the surrender of your self interest to the only one who can satisfactorily fulfill it. It’s a no brainer. Imagine yourself, for the moment, as a 3 year old child. Your sense of who you are and the ineffable’s sense of who you are, are vastly different. Calling you a 3 year old is giving you way too much credit but I needed an example, even though the gulf between you in respect of that awareness is much greater. Is it not logical that you should rely on your parents for every choice?

However, a great many of us bawl in frustration over the unavailability of instant gratification’ the colorful object we can’t reach, or because we made a mess in our pants and... you can definitely extrapolate that out metaphorically and in analogy to it’s every possibility of demonstration. We also get pissed off and act selfishly, throwing food, rejecting what’s offered, in other words, behaving like a child. Certain features of behaving like a child are good (The wolf will live with the lamb, and the leopard will lie down with the young goat; the calf and the young lion will feed together, and a little child will lead them), some are not. This is where discrimination comes in.

Here’s the important thing:

"and said,
Verily I say unto you, Except ye turn, and become as little children, ye shall in no wise enter into the kingdom of heaven."

I’ve explained this often and it is one of the things I repeat for a very good reason. That is because it has a deeper interpretation than that on the surface. One must accomplish regenerated innocence. That is how people are in the heavens AND... if you are not resonant with the environment you are automatically discharged and then your personal magnetics take care of getting you to your next location where you do resonate.

Note the phrase, “unless ye ‘turn’. What this means is that there is a different direction that is necessary in order to accomplish this resonance. What this also means is that most people are heading in the direction of perdition. You have to turn away from the general direction AND it’s a good idea to immediately admit you have no idea why you were doing what you were doing and no idea of where you were headed. Then you let go and let God. Here’s what Lao Tzu has to say on the matter:

“He whom life fulfills,
Though he remains a child,
Is immune to the poisonous sting
Of insects, to the ravening
Of wild beasts or to vultures' bills.

He needs no more bone or muscle than a baby's for sure hold.
Without thought of joined organs, he is gender
Which grows firm, unfaltering.
Though his voice should cry out at full pitch all day, it would not rasp but would stay tender
Through the perfect balancing
Of a man at endless ease with everything
Because of the true life that he has led.
To try for more than this bodes ill.
It is said, 'there's a way where there's a will;'But let life ripen and then fall.
Willis not the way at all:
Deny the way of life and you are dead.”

Allowing life to fulfill you results in this;

“Be utterly humble
And you shall hold to the foundation of peace.
Be at one with all these living things which, having arisen and flourished,
Return to the quiet whence they came,
Like a healthy growth of vegetation
Falling back upon the root.
Acceptance of this return to the root has been called 'quietism,'
Acceptance of quietism has been condemned as 'fatalism.'
But fatalism is acceptance of destiny
And to accept destiny is to face life with open eyes,
Whereas not to accept destiny is to face death blindfold.
He who is open-eyed is open-minded-
He who is open-minded is open-hearted,
He who is open-hearted is kingly,
He who is kingly is godly,
He who is godly is useful,
He who is useful is infinite,
He who is infinite is immune,
He who is immune is immortal.”

There is a reason that we are born with an innocent nature and there is a reason that we are corrupted and that is to provide meaning and value to regenerated innocence, to the one who turns away. Wisdom is (or should be) the proper fruit of experience.

Devolve to evolve. . .go left to go right. . .how true, though when I became aware of it, I found it rather annoying and I became annoyed with myself for choosing it, for I can remember no other purpose in asking other than ego. After all, you are in a place where there is only Truth, not to mention infinite knowledge, and I DEMANDED I come to this cesspool of illusion where I have to put up the bladder, intestines, other peoples' disruptive crotch droppings, morons and time vampires. How can I be so idiotic to ask for that, and after having been warned?

I musta been drunk. No wonder I don't drink in this life. YES I'M BEING SARCASTIC! YOU CAN'T GET DRUNK IN THE ETHERIC REALMS, but hey. I'll find out everything soon enough, and probably laugh over it when it's over. After all, I did pull enough doozies and have a more comical past than most, not necessarily in a good way.

I've said it before, I'll say it again. There were are time I think I'd like to take a flamethrower to my younger self for some of the things I've done, or not done. If you all knew of my past, I think I'd be a damn good argument FOR birth control.

Here's another one:

AS IF I DIDN'T SPEND ENOUGH ON YOU TO GET YOU THIS FAR, YOU STUPID BITCH!"

(At the same time, I laughed my arse off at the story, but it did grow back. I suppose this is a good thing for the next time I land on it.)

I never quite understood the meaning of the above untill just recently. As visible so rightly states the key is 'One must accomplish regenerated innocence'.

It is possible to achieve this by simply asking oneself whole heartedly for forgiveness for all past indiscretions, mistakes, sins. If this is done in the form of a short meditaion, over and over, then you will eventually get the that acceptance. You will know when this happens ....

You will then in way have become 'newborn'. You have been granted (granted yourself) a reboot. Day one all over again. The door to heaven is now open :)

Read and weep! From the sister of the big fat pompous Etonian moron (who is actually very popular in the minds of many poor Brits). And seems to be quite high in the running to be the next british PM.

"Ms Johnson also claimed her friends were now envious of her as many of them had never encountered poor people. "Bizarrely, I think there’s a lot of envy. ‘Lucky old Rachel, she went on poverty safari!’ An experience they can never have, even with all the money they’ve got,” she said."

"To Turn Again... to Turn Away."
(and back again)

Srila Prabhupada: May 1, 1975

At the present moment also there is great educational advancement. There are many universities and technological institutions, and there is economic development to such an extent that in America there is sufficiency of everything. Yet people are unhappy. The youth especially are becoming disillusioned. Why? The answer is that there is no knowledge of God. This is the only cause of unhappiness. Every one of us is part and parcel of God, and because of this our real hankering is for God. A child is similarly part and parcel of his mother, and when he is unhappy, nothing can satisfy the child but the lap of his mother. Although everyone may try to pacify the child, he will go on crying and crying till he reaches his mother's lap and is nursed by her. Similarly, we are all children of God, but we are making plans to be happy independent of God, and that is not possible.

Clearing Up Some Misconceptions about Buddhism
by Ron Epstein

Research Professor, Institute for World Religions
Lecturer, Philosophy Department, San Francisco State University

Published in Vajra Bodhi Sea: A Monthly Journal of Orthodox Buddhism,
Feb., 1999, pp. 41-43.

Hinduism and Buddhism Compared

"The historical Buddha Shakyamuni denied the divine authority of the
Brahmins, the Hindu priestly class. He set up a system of taking
refuge with the Three Jewels (Buddha, Dharma, Sangha) in which a
member of the Buddhist monastic community becomes the representative
of the Three Jewels and the teacher of individual lay Buddhists. He
also set up lineages of enlightened masters, who were entrusted with
the task of carrying on the authentic teachings.

The Buddha also criticized mere ceremony in Hinduism, especially
ritual bathing and mortification ceremonies.
He did, however, establish some rituals of his own. The Buddha set up
rituals that could act as aids or vehicles in the inner
journey towards the discovery of one's own true nature.

The Buddha was not interested in setting up a religion filled with
religious dogma and metaphysical stances. He wished
merely to give practical directions for people so that they could
themselves permanently end their suffering. This principle is
illustrated in the celebrated analogy of the poison arrow.

The Buddha was not anti-tradition, but he did not believe in tradition
for tradition's sake. He taught that one should take the Truth for
one's own, wherever it is found, and discard that which is not the
Truth. The system of lineage mentioned above is a way of ensuring that
the Truth which the Buddha had discovered would not be lost.

The Buddha encouraged people of all classes and of both sexes to seek
for enlightenment in this very life.

The Buddha did not deny the supernatural and stated clearly that there
were gods, spirits, ghosts, and demons, etc. He taught that spiritual
powers could be developed and that all enlightened beings have them.
Nevertheless, he did not recommend the worship of the gods, etc.,
and condemned fortune-telling and the display of spiritual powers
without good reason. >

Mahayana, Hinayana, and Theravada Compared

"'Mahayana' means 'great vehicle.' 'Hinayana' means' 'small vehicle'
or 'lesser vehicle'. 'Theravada' means 'teaching of the elders.'

Mahayana and Hinayana began not as separate schools but as alternative
intentions and goals, which were a matter of personal choice. The
adherents of each lived and practiced together. It took many centuries
for those differences to coalesce into different schools, which
eventually spread into different geographic areas.

The Theravada School of Buddhism, which is found in Sri Lanka and most
of Southeast Asia, should not be called 'Hinayana', because Hinayana
originally referred to the commitment of individuals, not to a school
of Buddhism. Later it became incorrectly used as an inappropriate and
pejorative term for the Theravada. Theravada is sometimes referred to
as Southern Buddhism, while Mahayana is sometimes called Northern
Buddhism, because it came to be found in China, Korea, Japan, and
Tibet.

What then are the different goals? The goal of the Hinayana
practitioner is that of ending attachment to self and, thereby,
becoming an Arhat, who undergoes no further rebirth. Although those on
the path of the Arhat help others, often extensively, that help ends
with the entering of nirvana because the Arhat is not reborn. The
Mahayana practitioner does not treat Arhatship as an ultimate goal,
and is on the Path of the Bodhisattva, which leads to becoming a
Buddha. A Buddha is replete with perfect wisdom (whereas the wisdom of
the Arhat is seen as limited and imperfect) and universal compassion.
The Bodhisattva is reborn voluntarily in order to aid all living
beings to become enlightened. The realization of Buddhahood includes
not only realization of the emptiness of self but also of the
emptiness of dharmas, that is, of the entire psychophysical world.
Emptiness is a Buddhist technical term that refers to the lack of
real, permanent, inherent nature in any one, any thing, or any
concept. Roughly speaking, it means that there are no real essences of
people (i.e. selves) or of 'things' (dharmas).

The various Mahayana schools accept all of the teachings that are
found in the Theravada canon; however, the Theravada school rejects
the Mahayana Sutras and does not recognize the "expansive" teachings
of the Mahayana about Bodhisattvas and about the Buddhas of the other
directions. The Theravada primarily discusses the historical Buddha
Shakyamuni, while the Mahayana pays comparatively more attention than
the Theravada to other Buddhas, who stretch infinitely into the past
and who are also found in other world-systems. The scriptures of the
Theravada do mention Buddhas prior to the Buddha Shakyamuni and
Buddhas in other world-systems, and also the path of the Bodhisattva.

Mahayana emphasizes compassion more than the Theravada and recommends
that we universalize it. Mahayana also
advocates the goal of a higher level of wisdom, that of the Buddha. >

Further Comments on Mahayana and Theravada

Western scholars often analyze Mahayana, Theravada, and their
antecedent schools in Western historical and social evolutionary
perspective, an approach that makes little sense from a Buddhist point
of view. (It is true that the two schools did develop historically and
evolve socially, but that is not central to the Buddhist way of
looking at things.) A Buddhist analysis emphasizes alternate choices
for pathway to enlightenment and different levels of enlightenment.

Some Western scholars have erroneously tried to claim that Mahayana is
primarily a religion for laymen and Theravada is a priamarily monastic
religion. Both Mahayana and Theravada have as their foundation strong
monastic communities,
which are almost identical in their regulations. Schools of Mahayana
Buddhism without monastic communities of fully ordained monks and
nuns are relatively recent and atypical developments, usually based
on cultural and historical considerations rather than differences in
fundamental doctrine. Both Mahayana and Theravada also provided a
clear and important place for lay followers.

Both Mahayana and Theravada have little use for intellectual
speculation. Though rational thought is valued and has its place on
the Buddhist Path, in itself it will not take one to enlightenment.
Nonetheless, Buddhist logicians were the most advanced in the world
until relatively recently.

The cosmologies of Mahayana and Theravada are quite similar. In
Mahayana scriptures, the realms of Bodhisattvas and Buddhas are
described in greater detail.

In Mahayana Buddhism the Buddha is not considered to be a savior .
Buddhists of some schools do talk about self effort and other power.
Yet, according to Buddhist teaching, that distinction ultimately does
not hold up, because the distinction between self and other is unreal.
Likewise, for the same reason, no clear dividing line exists between
prayer and meditation. Although no equivalent to grace is found in
Mahayana, the aid of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas is an important
reality. Yet Buddhists do not consider Buddhas and Bodhisattvas to be
separate, ultimately, from themselves, from their own true minds. In
both Mahayana and Theravada, enlightenment is not contingent upon
others. If the Buddha had been able to grant enlightenment, he
certainly would have enlightened all living beings. "
