Climbing to Freedom through the Devil's Horns.

Dog Poet Transmitting.......

It’s great to be back at Origami which is where I prefer to be. I don’t much care about the other stuff but I am obliged to do what I do for the moment. There’s a reason for everything, even if I don’t often know what that reason is. I have to get a little personal with this posting since commentary has been running in this direction; not so much at the blogs as in the emails.

Some numbers of people have commented on the positions and the ways in which I hold my hands in some of the photographs of me online. I’ve received many a curious email and in some cases, people questioning why I would be making what they consider to be the sign of the devil’s horns. One person asked why I was making the hand sign of The Baphomet. Well, first off, the sign of The Baphomet has the thumb across the palm and a V made between the two separated middle fingers.

I got away from the area of the occult that treats with these things many moons ago. Before that I put a lot of study into it; years and years. It was quite a passion of mine but destined to go nowhere because I don’t care about magic. I care about completing The Great Work; opening the third eye (on a permanent basis), making the Philosopher’s Stone and acquiring the Pearl of Great Price. These are all the same thing.

People are very much uninformed about what things mean and that is why there is so much confusion about what things mean. There is only one force, period. There are not two forces; one good and one evil. There is one force with two different applications. It depends on the person conducting it what direction it flows in and what it accomplishes. The beauty of a perfect Spring morning and the howling rage of a winter storm are examples of the same force.

Whether you are a student of the Western Tradition and talk about things like Fohat or a student of the East and you talk about Kundalini, you are talking about the same thing; even if they differ slightly or one comes out of the other. After my Kundalini experience, I was obliged to go to prison for awhile. One thing I noticed was the number of gangsters who would rest the backs of their hands at the top of their ass and have their hands just like mine only pointing downward. This was an unconscious expression of this force but applied to the criminal mind’s enterprises.

Here is a picture of one of India’s greatest saints. You can see other examples here. Should you ever get to read the large biography of this man by his disciple M, you will see that he was truly remarkable.

In the Lord of the Rings it is explained how Sauron made goblins as travesties of elves. What powers the darkness has are perversions of the powers of light. This is one reason that certain brotherhoods of the light are very careful about who learns what. All that the darkness knows about certain things, it took from compromised souls. There’s a bit more to it than that but let’s leave it at this because it serves for the purpose of argument.

We all have God inside of us. Some of us are involved in the process of awakening that part of ourselves but most are not. I’ve said it before; the Devil is God the way he appears to the wicked.

I’ve had to listen to a lot of people go on and on about The Masonic Order. This is a sign of ignorance. There is no doubt that members of that organization have acted to create their own mafia just like all the other mafias. The established churches conceal the mystery of the universe and its truths but that does not stop the churches from being a haven for demons and a stinking corruption of what is eternal within us. Of course they cannot corrupt that but they can corrupt our perceptions of it.

For myself, I have no idea why my kundalini was activated; why I found myself in the same positions as Ramakrishna and with a green electric fiery outline around my form that is still around. Given how I have behaved on occasion it makes no sense. Given my limitations and varieties of ignorance it makes no sense but God makes no sense either.

I do belong to an order but I do not even know its name. I did not get the name of my teacher when I met him on that Big Sur beach and I never have. I have no idea what I am doing here or where it’s headed. I do what is in front of me and it is all I can do. I do not belong to any temporal clubs and I don’t participate in any rituals. The hands of those awakened by God and those who have entered into contracts with the dark lord are very similar in this way because it is the same force and it moves the same ways but for different purposes. A study of Tibetan religious art will explain a great deal. Study the wrathful deities as well as the benevolent and you will see what I mean. Take a look at the Great Tibetan Wheel of Life. It’s something like this. I like to say that it is something ‘like’ this because everything is an approximation and everything is based on the belief system of the person it happens to.

Just because you see someone making what you think is devil’s horns; don’t assume they are a devil. Don’t assume that the Masons are evil or that everyone in power everywhere belongs to some secret organization or that they take their orders from there. If you don’t know, then tell yourself so. There are so many wild assumptions going on. Every day people take the information from their chosen news organ and assume it’s true. None of it might be true. It’s not what’s going on outside of you that is important anyway. It’s what’s going on inside of you. The world is an endless kaleidoscope of unreal and temporary appearances. The power inside of you is greater than all of the standing armies of the world. This is a fact. Accessing it is the key and the mystery, which is easily solved by faith, certitude and determination... not to mention a certain amount of courage and the ability to make it more important than anything else. This is an interesting feature which deserves exploration, this idea of making it more important than anything else. In fact, you will find this applies to anything you want and anything you want to do or be.

Be careful what you wish for and what you pursue. I’m lucky in that regard. I really don’t want anything more than the presence of God. That might be because I have had it on occasion and... well... what is there after that?

We are welcome to go right on pursuing will ‘o the wisps and fata morganas until the stars fall from the sky or we are welcome to become one. There is a road to every destination, real or imagined that the mind can conceive. The simple act of believing in it makes it so. The power of the mind is incalculable; the power of the heart quite a bit more than that. This of course may be poetic license but I felt like saying it and I believe it so, same rules apply. The power of God is way beyond any of that. To me it is the height of insanity that people do not pursue the company of their creator. They are possessed of the possibility of conscious immortality and beauty beyond description and they pursue the grave and traffic in turds.

I don’t know much but ...some of the things I do know have to do with things that happened to me so I have evidence of them. We shouldn’t attribute evil to things that we don’t understand. There is a power resident within that knows everything and is not shy about sharing particular information with the sincere seeker. It is not shy about guidance and its generosity is beyond the scope of human comprehension. Its mercy defies description and has no limits. I realize that things are bad out there but they are always wonderful within, depending on how deeply you are willing to go.

There has never been a time when the materially driven, with stolen secrets, will not endeavor to slander the lightbringers. Nothing threatens their houses of cards more. We do not search for some future victory. Victory was achieved most convincingly long ago. We are living in the echoes of a battle that has ended. We should conduct ourselves with that understanding.

End Transmission.......

"He who is without attachment, who does not rejoice when he obtains good, nor lament when he obtains evil, is firmly fixed in perfect knowledge." [Bhagavad-gītā 2.57]

Our human ideas of good and bad are largely speculation, driven by tastes picked up by association from people around us. Actual good and evil can only be measured on the scale of eternity, within the world of the Absolute, to which few of us have access. On that scale, anything that leads to detachment from material consciousness is wisdom, and anything else is ignorance.

There is a science of consciousness, and I don't mean the nonsense reductionist speculation that consciousness is an epiphenomenon of brain function. Even if that is true, then who or what is aware of this epiphenomenon? Without awareness or consciousness, there are no other issues. It follows that consciousness is that which gives everything else its value. The inevitable conclusion is that whatever increases consciousness is good, and the opposite is bad. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Wise words.

It is human nature for most to aspire to fix the world and the problems therein. In the final analysis we can only fix ourselves. It seems heartless to tell people they cannot fix the world for it is way too broken.

We can only know in our hearts there will be a new world. There will be a new world and this earth will heal itself. If I may be allowed to speculate the new cosmic alignment will expand the earth but it will kill every last organism and and amoeba here on this planet.

That may sound harsh to many but it is music to mother earth's ears. She will find the time to absorb and neutralize the nuclear and toxic waste spread from one pole to the other. The angels are not going to come down and make it right but the creator force will begin the process at some point with the cosmic wink of an eye.

The DNA of earth man is faulty, the seeds of life are now faulty and polluted. Yet there are those whose image of self cling to this reality but they will be shown soon they are not of this. All will go to where their heart is. There will be a great sorting, a separation of wheat from the chafe.

Some day when the earth is cleansed and purified she will accept again the seeding of a new man with a better DNA. Mother nature understands this process much better than we.

I think the dark souls know this much better than those of good heart and are busy doing what they do best, killing because time is running short. That is their MO or job description. There is simply no other logical explanation for it.

A few wise words on consciousness by J.M. Jenkins:

THE PRE/TRANS FALLACY

"Three stages of psychological development can be identified and are particularly useful for clarifying the problems that the modern mind-set has with ideas so central to the Perennial Philosophy.

The three stages can also be thought of as states of consciousness, and they are: pre-rational, rational and trans-rational. Nietzsche, in his essay called "On Scholars," presented this idea allegorically. The prerational state is analogous to that of babies, who have not learned to process reality in a linear, sequential fashion. Their immersion in the unitary ocean of feeling is a kind of blissful oneness, but is bereft of the ego sense through which external data can be related to a sense of individual identity. This categorizing and processing of external reality is the province of the rational stage, which requires a more or less concisely formulated ego with which external reality can be measured, analyzed, and rationally categorized. This second state is inherently limited by the dualist framework that it requires --an observer and the observed. The being has fallen out of oneness, out of paradise. The unconscious unity of the prerational state has achieved a conscious relationship with the objects of sense perception, predicated on the fiction of the ego. The ego is a good thing, a natural development. As Terrence McKenna used to say, we need ego, otherwise we'd be likely to put food in the wrong mouth. The third stage is a logical development that leads beyond logic. It is the transrational position, or state, that perceives ego within the larger field of a unitary whole. It's not that the ego has been annihilated (that would be a return to the pre-rational state), but that the ego is transcended, is placed in a non-dual relationship with, well, everything else -- nature, the world, other egos.

In terms of psychological development, the transrational state perceives connections between "things" that are not contingent upon the cause-and-effect framework utilized by rational processing. We might say that the rational state is logical, while the transrational state is analogical. An analogy made between, say, the form of a river and the form of the Milky Way takes on great meaning. Though labeled as a mere poetic metaphor by the rational mind, to the transrational mind such a parallel reveals an underlying universal ordering principle that is there, exists, is evident to the perception but cannot be explained by good old-fashioned Newtonian science...

The critical issue here is that the transrational position includes the rational position -- tanscendence includes that which it transcends. It should not be a threat to the rational mind, because it is the logical higher viewpoint in the rational mind's development. Thus, meta-physics, as the term itself suggests, is the larger cosmological viewpoint of which physics is merely a small subset. (more to come)+

Regarding Masonry and the Illuminati, to mention a couple

The very word "secrecy" is repugnant in a free and open society; and we are as a people inherently and historically opposed to secret societies, to secret oaths and to secret proceedings. We decided long ago that the dangers of excessive and unwarranted concealment of pertinent facts far outweighed the dangers which are cited to justify it. Even today, there is little value in opposing the threat of a closed society by imitating its arbitrary restrictions. Even today, there is little value in insuring the survival of our nation if our traditions do not survive with it. And there is very grave danger that an announced need for increased security will be seized upon by those anxious to expand its meaning to the very limits of official censorship and concealment. That I do not intend to permit to the extent that it is in my control. And no official of my Administration, whether his rank is high or low, civilian or military, should interpret my words here tonight as an excuse to censor the news, to stifle dissent, to cover up our mistakes or to withhold from the press and the public the facts they deserve to know.

For we are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies primarily on covert means for expanding its sphere of influence--on infiltration instead of invasion, on subversion instead of elections, on intimidation instead of free choice, on guerrillas by night instead of armies by day. It is a system which has conscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit, highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific and political operations.
Its preparations are concealed, not published. Its mistakes are buried, not headlined. Its dissenters are silenced, not praised. No expenditure is questioned, no rumor is printed, no secret is revealed.

There is no question that there are organized groups whose intention for humanity is not good. However, secrecy is something that exists at both ends of the spectrum. It does not serve that those who can control lightning should be compelled to make that power available to those who cannot control themselves. As for the darker side of the matter, their secrecy and spread of confusion from seemingly competing positions is well known; at least it is here.

I think it much more profitable to know 'who' the enemy is than to be willing to leap at every shadow. Another aspect of those who seek to engage us in actions to our detriment is to get us tilting at windmills. My particular battle takes place in the human heart and mind, not on the actual fields of combat, though I've had my share of that sort of thing.

The thing is, each of us is differently abled and likely to act and express in ways and places that do not suit another, even if we are both accomplishing, or attempting to accomplish the same thing.

My take is that all evil intent comes from one place and it has zero power except what I give it. It is true that a lot of people are giving this interpretation of 'the force' the power to act against them. I am not and so I am not seeing it either. Still, I'm not a master of this process and I get unhorsed on occasion. However, that's in the hands of the one running the show, the whole show and my experience has been that it looks after me.

I cannot compel people to adopt my position. I have not intention of getting on a soap box about it or exhorting anyone about it. I merely intend to go on stating what I am stating and to help where I can. I can see them destroying themselves and I assist that inasmuch as I know how to.

Jenkins Cont'd

"Why does the pre/trans fallacy relate to the topics of sacred science and the Perennial Philosophy? We have three levels, or states of consciousness. The middle state is occupied by rationalists. It is they who, in our culture, are the arbiters of what is admissible and it is they who are called upon as experts, "voices of reason." The garden-variety rationalist falls prey to the righteous prejudice that the rational intellect is the highest and most desired development a human being can strive for. As Ken Wilber said so well, "Rationality is the great and final omega point of individual and collective development, the high-water mark of all evolution. No deeper or wider or higher context is thought to exist. Thus, life is to be lived either rationally, or neurotically (Freud's concept of neurosis is basically anything that derails the emergence of rational perception -- true enough as far as it goes, which is just not that far).

They believe that beyond reason is nothing, or perhaps faith, which is judged a weak recourse of those who have failed to apply rational processing. This is why we have a contentious and misleading debate between "faith and reason," as if faith was merely a kind of god-sanctioned feeling, a basically irrational personal conviction tolerated only because it provides a safe illusion for the intellectually deficient. The typical rationalist intellect does not see faith as a transrational certainty forged by direct experience of the transcendent. In fact, often it is not; in the modern world faith is very often merely blind faith, uninformed by direct gnosis. What blind faith replaces is knowing, direct gnosis of that which lies beyond the limited purview of rationalist science. In this formulation, we have the pre-rational, the rational, and the transrational.

WE CAN SEE HOW EASY IT IS FOR THE RATIONALIST MIND-SET TO MISTAKE THE TRANSRATIONAL AS A FORM OF THE PRERATIONAL."

Amen to that.

Yes, RJ, but what about us morons who can barely spell cat if you spot us the c and the t?
Don't we deserve the same ultimate Absolute Truth as you braniacs who solve (or strive to ) the puzzle with the power of your minds?
All we have is our tiny intellects.
Oh yes, we do have the same hearts and souls.
Perhaps that's our salvation, our rescue from your wilderness of what to us is gobbelygook, at best.
Even a moron like me is capable of vibrating transcendental music.
Even though I can't explain it..

Another Take On the Wisdom Tradition.

This from Peter Kingsley
"In the Dark Place of Wisdom"

"If you're lucky you'll come to a crossroads and see that the path to the left leads to hell, that the path to the right leads to hell, that the road straight ahead leads to hell and that if you try to turn around you'll end up in complete and utter hell... Then, if you're ready, you'll start to discover inside yourself what you always longed for but were unable to find."

Peace,

Thank you, thank you for reminding me again what I must do. You speak my thoughts, you expose my earthly desires. I am left naked. What man are you that you flick through my thoughts as one does a tabloid newspaper? I thank God for you .. you are a light on the hill showing me which way to go. This is my first post and I think I am inebriated just a little bit. Thank you again for the thought provoking words.

I think the trap of life--or, at least the trap of religion--is that we are taught to look OUTSIDE ourselves for light/salvation/guidance etc. At least that has been my experience. My religion never told me to look inside for God, for the divine. But then I read the Bible through and the one thing that jumped out at me, was how Jesus told the Pharisees (in LUKE) that the Kingdom of God was INSIDE of them--that it wasn't a place to search for or go to because we already had it inside of us. That was the AH HAH! moment for me and I really GOT IT.

And I really loved the Secret Book of John. I loved that more than the entire Bible because it explained things that I didn't understand about the Bible. I found that easier to understand than the Bible as well.

I think it's great that you keep reminding us that we already have what we need inside of us. It's important to be reminded.

I bow to you on
armistice day
for all them
soldiers waisted lives
by bankers and elitists
with the wickedness they
devised
evil men,most of them
I'm sure a few saw past their wicked ways,
renounced their wealth
and tried to live their life with better days
but better days are just not here
wickedness still causing strife
using chaos as a means
to dominate over life
think their clever
the elite
pulsating evil through there views
with selective information
illusion just abuse
but they have not seen
what I have seen
and when they do
I prey that day soon come
old peace
a storm cloud
on the horizon
where their should be risen sun
the mighty force of everything
the perceiver of all in sight
the armor,maker, protector,
raise the living light
when that day come
for all you wicked
who are using wickedness
I prey
renounce your wealth
cos selling your souls
to wickedness's way
all I say is you will be taken from your lofty heights
I say this as a warning
remember all of them soldiers you sacrificed

Until the latest of our world conflicts, the United States had no armaments industry. American makers of plowshares could, with time and as required, make swords as well. But now we can no longer risk emergency improvisation of national defense; we have been compelled to create a permanent armaments industry of vast proportions. Added to this, three and a half million men and women are directly engaged in the defense establishment. We annually spend on military security more than the net income of all United States corporations.

This conjunction of an immense military establishment and a large arms industry is new in the American experience. The total influence -- economic, political, even spiritual -- is felt in every city, every State house, every office of the Federal government. We recognize the imperative need for this development. Yet we must not fail to comprehend its grave implications. Our toil, resources and livelihood are all involved; so is the very structure of our society.

In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the militaryindustrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.

We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together.

Superb, Les

Divine writing, you simply keep honing it to an ever finer point. It has now even penetrated my thick skull - or smoke-cured, shrivelled heart - which proves to me (what I knew all along, of course, being a clever devil) that you're a pretty sharp guy and that it's time to polish-up my hammy act and align with what I knew to be true; but was otherwisedumbo engaged in wallowing ah, there's nothing like a... in order to enjoy the bath even more (he told himsell) - ho,ho; no - I suspect all the trepidation has been the result of clinging to all the shit that makes me me, as being a golem does have its moments.
Luckily for me it's just happening with no effort (complete and utter lie but true) and being a lazy lad it suits me fine that things sometimes seem unfair, ie. lazy-bones gets a break whilst innocent mates are breaking up on the ragged shores of rock-n-roll.(here comes the insurance salesman's pitch, so to squeak) Not that I'm expecting plain sailing all the way, but it sure as hell is time to get the quack out of the stagnant pond and catch a breath of fresh air... and of course the oddnew shit-storm and drama and all the blah-blah-blah

Isn't the sign laungage sign for I love you almost the same as the baphomet's horns? I think it is forefinger and pinky up, middle finger, ring finger down and thumb extended in the sign laungage. The baphomet's horns symbol you place your thumb on middle finger and ring finger. Some interesting humanist-luciferians claim satan was an alien astronaut who bred with earth women. Do the teutonic or norse mythologies have a satan figure? Maybe the yin and yang sign is correct. Both forces contained in a circle.

Just had a friend who was facing drastic medical invasiveness take matters into his own hands - his pistol. He will be missed. A good soul, a buddhist, humble and generous. I'm a little pissed off.

Since this is veterans day (and the debut of 'modern warfare 2'), I'm going out on a limb and express my conundrum(s), as well as question the revered 'words of god' popular in these parts.
I'm what is called a "civilian", always have been. I'm fed up to here with all the bullshit talk of 'tradition', 'duty', 'honor', 'courage', 'heroism', 'discipline', 'service', 'sacrifice', etc. I'm fed up to here with the idea that only 'veterans' can speak with authority on war & peace 'cause they've experienced the 'reality on the ground', and had the 'spiritual' warrior experience, and such crap.
Modern soldiering is so far removed from warriorship its ridiculous. (at least according to Tom Brown Jr. and others). Though I grew up in San Diego, saw every kind of base, weapon, aircraft, ship, vehicle, etc. on endless 'field trips' throughout my youth, I knew by the time I was 14 that the military was a load of shit. Brainwashing, zombieization, anti-life, anti-sovereignty, vile in the extreme. I knew the despicable history of this genocidal country, the presence of 'advisors' in Vietnam (VietReport and Ramparts mags were available), the communist-capitalist bullshit game, the evilness of CIA and their infamous coups, and I saw the ugly changes in my older cousins during their 'hitches'. I guess I was just "lucky". There was no way I would ever wear any fucking uniform of this shit empire. That I knew at least by age 16. At 21 I made a decision to head to India, via Canada, and I hitch-hiked almost all the way. I made the decision to go and (maybe) learn something from Asian peoples instead of bombing them into red mist. Yeah, I'm a fucking draft-dodger, and I'm not in the least ashamed of it.

Being a "civilian", I realize that once subjected to military indoctrination, it is nearly impossible to comprehend the perspective of the 'non-participator' in militarism. There was a time on this planet when most humans were non-warriors, there being the warrior societies within all tribes, and perhaps a kshyatria caste (though they had to be suppressed by Balarama for wielding too much power and going ape-shit as usual). Militaries have ALWAYS been used for land (or resource)-grabbing almost exclusively. This includes "crusades". Armies were also created to keep the ('divine-right'-sanctioned) "nobility" empowered over the "peasants" (until they were forced to form their own armies, which were defeated by collusion and money from Big Religion in branding them all as "heretics", thereafter burning millions of sovereign, un-brainwashed wise women and men (in the name of jesus), and teaching the European peoples the 'lesson' to never revolt against TPTB, and NEVER question "divine right" and "authority"). So, is any goddamn thing different today? Politicians and zionist-capitalists with their inbred 'nobility' ancestry? This is old shit.

Which brings me to the main point.
In '69 I hand-copied the Bhagavad Gita and carried it around for several years, believing at the time that within it was all the wisdom one could ever need. This was because at one point the 'real deal' Baba recited in my presence, with full siddhi-of-speech, the 11th chapter, the revelation chapter, which he had never before or since done in the presence of 'foreigners'. The effect of this was that I understood the sanskrit perfectly and received the vision of the Universal Form, exited normal space-time, and spent the next 30 years trying to assimilate the revelation. I had absolutely ZERO drugs in my system, was smoking NOTHING, and was healthy and touching no drugs of any kind.
But there's a big contradiction regarding the warriorship of Arjuna:

"O Arjuna, the Atma that dwells in the body of all (beings) is eternally indestructible. Therefore, you should not mourn for any body. (2.30)"

OK. Good enough. "The Atma is indestructible". There is no "death" (of Atma)....so, slaughter away?

"If you will not fight this righteous [?] war, then you will fail in your duty, lose your reputation, and incur sin. (2.33) People will talk about your disgrace forever. To the honored, dishonor is worse than death. (2.34) The great warriors will think that you have retreated from the battle out of fear. Those who have greatly esteemed you will lose respect for you. (2.35) Your enemies will speak many unmentionable words and scorn your ability. What could be more painful than this? (2.36)"

And then there's this business: "Treating pleasure and pain, gain and loss, victory and defeat alike, engage yourself in your duty. By doing your duty this way you will not incur sin [?]. (2.38)"..and.."He who is without attachment, who does not rejoice when he obtains good, nor lament when he obtains evil, is firmly fixed in perfect knowledge."

So 'honor' and 'dishonor' (from OTHERS) IS important? Or not. And maybe the victims will eventually realize their deaths incurred no "sin" for anyone. OK. I guess this is just another one of those "divine paradoxes". A major whatever. Remember: the Atma is indestructible. (Does this make sense? Oh right, holy scripture doesn't have to make sense. Or be a guide on how to live on planet Earth apparently.) One little problem: WAR NOW CREATES OMNICIDE OF THE PLANET (the military is widely known to be the worst polluter of the planet). Perhaps in the "long view" that's OK too?

Then, a bit later in chapter 11:
"The Supreme Lord said: O Arjuna, being pleased with you I have shown you, through My own yogic powers, this supreme, shining, universal, infinite, and primal form of Mine that has never been seen BEFORE BY ANYONE other than you. (11.47) Neither by study of the Vedas, nor by Yajna, nor by charity, nor by rituals, nor by severe austerities, CAN I BE SEEN in the cosmic form in this human world BY ANYONE OTHER THAN YOU, O Arjuna. (11.48)"
OK. I notice that "Grace" wasn't mentioned. But does this mean it's now a 'new, different reality' or that I'm Arjuna? Or is this more of the"only"-begotten, religious propagation, to keep people thinking that awakening is a hopeless false dream. The earth has now and always had many persons graced with vision through the veils. Is this not true?

I just don't trust ANY scripture as the "word of god" or absolute Truth, neither the christian bible, nor quran, nor ramayana, nor tibetan book of the dead, bhagavad gita, nor any other. I have no use for those who've 'found the ultimate answer' in any 'holy book' or words of sages recorded in unknown contexts. Nor those who claim to know the "true god".

So, anyway, shall we keep on 'studying war'.....it's given us so much knowledge and wisdom and beauty! And keep teaching our children to suck it up, and do your 'duty' and be a man?

A couple of points I notice Bholanath (thank you for your fine commentary by the way).

The first thing that struck me as you talked about why Arjuna must fight is to me a pretty simple affair. I find it easier to explain in the context of my understanding of Islam because of their use of the word 'jihad'. I've always had a different understanding of that word than what is common. To me, 'jihad' means we must war against that which is within us that conceals the light of God. The 'war' or 'effort' is an internal affair against our shortcomings and weaknesses which are really the cause of all outer war against our fellows. Once victorious on this particular battlefield we are empowered to carry peace with us wherever we go in the outer world because it is anchored within us.

The other point, ironically, is best explained in the words of Jesus Christ. It is where Krishna tells Arjuna that only he can see his full glory and effulgence. Christ said, "No man comes unto the father save by me." This particular comment has been the cause of much dissension in so many ways as it makes Christ exclusive to salvation and Christianity preeminent among religions and is then also the cause of much strife and conflict but this is the same thing that Krishna is saying to Arjuna in its own way.

Yes only Arjuna can see this but we are all Arjuna who put ourselves in the position to be. It simply speaks of the surrendered devotee, as Christ was, who is then able to perceive God. It's been said before that only God can see God. Only a devotee correctly positioned in relation to the divine is in a position to truly experience the divine.

It all makes perfect sense to me and its counterparts exist in every religion.

Inner awareness provides the vehicle for understanding. Outwardly well... we know about outwardly.

Sorry, I should have more precisely said, "Jesus' because "Christ' is a state or station. Jesus was the man as example for the experience of the state. The same applies across the board.

Well, actually, the sigil of Baphomet is the inverted pentagram. I've seen various hand signs. I'm referring to a particular, classic graphic; can't find it right now- I don't keep that kind of thing around.. heh heh... usually. You can see it in the 15th trump of the Rider Waite or Case Tarot deck.

As the Buddhas and divine expressions in Hinduism have more than one mudra the same would apply to the agents of the shadow, or the chief regent et al.

That's right, Les. Exoteric religion will always be at odds with esoteric realization; taking a stand on the literal, reductionist meaning will always destroy the delicate intuitive, meditative insight. Then they throw out the baby with the bathwater by declaring all scriptures to be invalid. Sigh.

Arjuna happened to be Kṛṣṇa's best friend as well as the greatest hero of the time, and was supposed to be the reigning king but had gotten screwed out of his kingdom by his relatives. Kṛṣṇa was encouraging him to fight back and take back the kingdom that was rightfully his. In a way, Arjuna's position exactly represents ours today. We have been screwed out of our inherited kingdom by the corporations and politicians, bankers and a perverted educational system that is really just training for lifelong serfdom. We can choose to fight to depose them and take back what is ethically ours, or we can pussy out, bend over and get screwed some more.

The whole point of Kṛṣṇa revealing His Universal Form to Arjuna was to encourage him that the battle had already been decided, and Arjuna's side would be victorious. It is by no means a blanket justification for religious war. Nor is Kṛṣṇa's statement "Only you have seen this [Universal Form]" a blanket, absolute statement. Kṛṣṇa is always expanding and increasing. His form this moment is outdone by His form in the next moment. Whenever we see His form, His eternally increasing novelty makes that vision obsolete in the next moment. Thus each vision of His form is unique to that individual and time.

You have to know Kṛṣṇa to understand this properly. Each statement in the scripture is a test. How you interpret it shows where you are on the infinite scale of self-realization.

I am sure that the vastness of possible exposition on the subject dwarfs my capacities but I do know that one will not get very far on the path of taking back what has been taken from them unless they first rid themselves of the qualities within themselves that also exist in whomever took it from them.

Myself, I don't much care for kingdoms here and if someone took it from me then I would probably let them have it. However, I realize that mine would be the minority position.

I realize that God is the ultimate showman in a certain way and he likes his performances which is why he shows up in various individuals to make things happen. Meanwhile, this world would not have been created otherwise and this world is a stage.

As I said in the closing lines of this post... whatever it is that I said, I think it also puts me in agreement with the victorious angle.

I'm not much for scriptures and the like though. I've read most of them, often more than once and have come to believe that the only scripture of importance for me is the one indelibly imprinted upon the fabric of my heart and whose fiery letters resonate there at this very moment.

Overall, I believe if I am in error then God will most certainly prompt me. this has been the case. Otherwise, my only duties are to strive and to practice the presence and to serve as I go.

Here we go with the literal meaning versus interpretation again. By 'fight to take it back', I don't at all mean that we should physically attack anyone. Just to clarify, what I actually mean (and have discussed elaborately on my own blog and website) is that we simply should stop cooperating with the exploitative corporations and governments, form independent communities based on spiritual principles, ignore them and wait for them to fall.

That's the problem with "Hindus," they believe in "foreigners."

As do 99% of the people of Kali yuga.

Varnashrama-dharma is all but gone. The ignorant caste system a perverted shell of the truth. All the societies have this sick caste but most are so far gone they aren't even aware enough to be in denial of it.

Even the inane mystics. Who cares? So what? So you can make gold appear. Whoopee. Going to buy your way out of here? Buy some autos, wine, women?
So you can manipulate the material energy. What's the use? Big magician. So what. You'll never be nava-kishora let alone Yogeshwara.

Srila Prabhupada: Now, the process how to revive our original consciousness. There are different processes, but at the present moment people are very, very fallen. This is called the age of Kali–means most fallen. Most fallen. The so-called material advancement is not the solution because God is eternal, we are eternal, and in the material condition we are changing our body. On account of our ignorance we are thinking “I am this body,” but I am not this body. I am that spark, spirit, part and parcel of God.

Until you take this first step, realize this one first truth, all the gold or magic or so-called spiritual masters in this world can't help you.
They can tie you up real tight though. Tighter than Hell.

My favorite parts from this post"

"There is a road to every destination, real or imagined that the mind can conceive. The simple act of believing in it makes it so. The power of the mind is incalculable; the power of the heart quite a bit more than that."

"To me it is the height of insanity that people do not pursue the company of their creator. They are possessed of the possibility of conscious immortality and beauty beyond description and they pursue the grave and traffic in turds."

"It’s not what’s going on outside of you that is important anyway. It’s what’s going on inside of you. The world is an endless kaleidoscope of unreal and temporary appearances. The power inside of you is greater than all of the standing armies of the world. This is a fact. Accessing it is the key and the mystery, which is easily solved by faith, certitude and determination… not to mention a certain amount of courage and the ability to make it more important than anything else. This is an interesting feature which deserves exploration, this idea of making it more important than anything else. In fact, you will find this applies to anything you want and anything you want to do or be."

I have often wondered about the original, more ancient system that must have been perverted into the modern hereditary caste system. As I try to look back in time to all 'religions' for their more ancient pure origins I find that they have all been hideously morphed into their present forms. The element of Hierarchy is the 'evil' element that I have found in common with all such perversions of original truth. As Varnashrama-dharma was mutated into a hereditary system of control so have whatever pure sparks of original 'religions' all been perverted. If you see Hierarchy, that's all you need to see.

Ah. This is refreshing and completely surprising to me. From the Essene Gospel of Peace, Jesus instructs his initiates on what to eat and even gives a recipe. Amazing.

"Let the angels of God prepare your bread. Moisten your wheat, that the angel of water may enter it. Then set it in the air, that the angel of air also may embrace it. And leave it from morning to evening beneath the sun, that the angel of sunshine may descend upon it. And the blessing of the three angels will soon make the germ of life to sprout in your wheat. Then crush your grain, and make thin wafers, as did your forefathers when they departed out of Egypt, the house of bondage. Put them back again beneath the sun from its appearing, and when it is risen to its highest in the heavens, turn them over on the other side that they be embraced there also by the angel of sunshine, and leave them there until the sun be set. For the angels of water, of air, and of sunshine fed and ripened the wheat in the field, and they, likewise, must prepare also your bread. And the same sun which, with the fire of life, made the wheat to grow and ripen, must cook your bread with the same fire. For the fire of the sun gives life to the wheat, to the bread, and to the body. But the fire of death kills the wheat, the bread, and the body. And the living angels of the living God serve only living men. For God is the God of the living, and not the God of the dead.

"So eat always from the table of God: the fruits of the trees, the grain and grasses of the field, the milk of beasts, and the honey of bees. For everything beyond these is of Satan, and leads by the way of sins and of diseases unto death. But the foods which you eat from the abundant table of God give strength and youth to your body, and you will never see diseases For the table of God fed Methuselah of old, and I tell you truly, if you live even as he lived, then will the God of the living give you also long life upon the earth as was his.

"For I tell you truly, the God of the living is richer than all the rich of the earth, and his abundant table is richer than the richest table of feasting of all the rich upon the earth. Eat, therefore, all your life at the table of our Earthly Mother, and you will never see want. And when you eat at her table, eat all things even as they are found on the table of the Earthly Mother. Cook not, neither mix all things one with another, lest your bowels become as steaming bogs. For I tell you truly, this is abominable in the eyes of the Lord."

...and sprouted seed wafers should be incredibly nutritious...

I had already crafted this reply once, the other night -- when Windows suddenly did some kind of update thing and shut down my computer without warning. Damn Zio-Windows...

It was quite a passion of mine but destined to go nowhere because I don’t care about magic. I care about completing The Great Work; opening the third eye (on a permanent basis), making the Philosopher’s Stone and acquiring the Pearl of Great Price. These are all the same thing.

There ya go. I have had an interest in the occult/paranormal since age 10 or so. I used to go read popular books or zines on magic and so forth because I was just curious. Since the Internet has opened up just about everything to the prying eye, I have done more reading about ritual magic and my main impression is it all seems like a huge pain in the ass to get it all to work right. It seems like climbing up the fire escape to get to the 100th floor when you could just walk into the building and take the elevator. I'd rather just use the old tried and tested prayer of faith. Works for me.

There is only one force, period. There are not two forces; one good and one evil. There is one force with two different applications.

I guess it all depends on semantics.
You could say that individuals, and good and evil forces, exist and it is accurate in that you are describing phenomena. Or, speaking ontologically, you could emphasize that everything ultimately came from the same place and is of the same substance.

Everything came from the single source, obviously. But not everything is connected to him in the same way. Some things/persons closer to divinity than others. The Kabbalah interested me for precisely the reason that it takes the monotheism of the Old Testament, and expounds it to mean oneness of everything. But, they insist, there are levels. There is hierarchy. The rock came from, and is of the substance of, the Most HIgh but there is a reason why you don't worship the rock. People who do worship rocks, and trees, and cows, and golden calfs, and serpents, and organizations, and possessions, and men, have caused themselves and others a lot of trouble. Because -- your rock tells you one thing; but my rock tells me a different thing. Therefore, I have to kill you.

But if all are worshiping the One who made the rocks and everything else, then we are all tuned into the same frequency. There are bound to be disagreements, but we are agreed about the single most important thing.

I don't think there is this static eternal balancing act between good and evil. I don't believe the history of the universe is an eternal loop. I believe like all good stories, the universe has a point. There is a story arc, a telos, a destination, a purpose. We are going somewhere. We are not just endlessly circling.

The only secret society I trust is my own.

Visible said...

If you've been reading here for any period of time then you know that I use the spiral to represent my take on the individual and collective route to endgame. I use the circle as it applies to acts of karma within the framework of Nature. Nature is cyclic and repeating. the divine is something else.

I don't really want to talk about this though because people go on endlessly saying the same thing in a different way.

Hank said...

Les, it's good to hear you sounding better. I always seem to like your origami stuff the best, and this offering is no exception. You present a point of view, in a fashion that gives focus to some of my own thoughts and issues. You assist me in finding clarity, and I find you a kindred soul. Or in other words, thanks.

For me this life is a journey within a vessel. I have come to understand that I am not my body, or the things I have, and no one will ever come to know me through either. In the long run we, as humans, can physically posses nothing, not even these bodies that others come to recognize as us.

I am that which sees me through the eyes of another when I look in the mirror. I am that which sees the vessel and wonders what I really look like. In this life I am what I choose to do, or more importantly in some cases, what I choose not to do. I am the state of being that is recognized by my deeds. My words are an indicator, but if they are not congruous with what I do, they mean nothing.

The universe has endowed me with endemic knowledge, or made me a receiver for all the knowledge that exists. Either way, it is how I know things I have not been taught. The knowledge is the same for all, but what we choose to do with it calls us out. Good or evil is the path we choose with the knowledge we choose to accept. As I said, all knowledge exists and if we make a place for it, it will reside. But knowledge can only take residence where none exists, and the residence is created by, I don't know.

"To me it is the height of insanity that people do not pursue the company of their creator. They are possessed of the possibility of conscious immortality and beauty beyond description and they pursue the grave and traffic in turds."

There is a simple beauty in these words that is beyond description, but for those who have arrived there, none is necessary. Les, I am almost certain that I could have written for a lifetime and not found words that conveyed something so profound so well.

To all that have read this article, I would say read it again, because there is something in it that is beyond the words. The journey is through this life, but what you seek is within. Your connection to the universe, and everything in it is within you. Finding yourself in not the goal, being yourself is. Peace to all.

Visible said...

Very well put Hank. You always bring a sort of naked honesty that I find appealing. Both of us are prisoners of our style(s). It is impossible to rid ourselves of artifice when treating with the presentation in words. The best we can hope for is to open little cracks in ourselves for the truth to leak out. That's what I always explain about the Liberty Bell. The place where it is cracked is where the truth leaked out.

I like Origami best too. it's what I started with. In a way it is good that I did Mirrors though because it has brought many readers over here.

For the longest time Origami was always one tenth the volume of Mirrors which tells something about existence in general.

Years ago I used to be involved with a group in a club I put together called, "The Survivors Club". This was in Woodstock NY. Toward the end we had about 200 members and we would put on all kinds of events for our enjoyment. We often take over a bar; bring our own music and food and dance the night away. Other times we would put on larger events outdoors in the summer and bands would come from all over.

I noticed a curious thing. Whatever we did there was never more than 10% of the members that did everything. We had sort of a round-table and each of us was responsible for a particular area of endeavor. Each individual had their own little group of people who did what was needed. None of us ever concerned ourselves with anything but our own segment and it worked beautifully.

I look forward to the day when we have some permutation of this. The most fun I've ever had in my life was working with others toward a common goal or living within some template (bad use of word) like a restaurant or well... there were a lot of different things and going through our days in a busy harmony. Sometimes the
energy got so good that everyone was spontaneously high without the need for any chemicals.

As this world has gotten progressively darker I remind myself of scenes that I was in and how very solid and wonderful they were. It gives me that necessary faith that it can/will come again

Bholanath, Babaji, John all of you this is some incredible introspection. I have to get back over here more often.

Bholanath you answered your own question, never accept anything, a book or or ones opinion you do not verify for yourself. This is straight from the Buddha who cautioned all not to accept things simply because he says so verify for yourself.

If everyone had done this over the centuries I am sure the world look much differently than it does now.

One thing that always stands out to me and I have heard it before many times. Krishna says he represents the supreme God Head. Jesus says I am the truth and the light and the gateway. It does not confuse me at all. There is only one Christos and I have no doubt he has taken many forms and many bodies on this planet over the eons.

Let us entertain a question if you will. Kahlil Gibran in his autobiography was shaken and conferred to close friends that he had an awakening, a deep personal experience and it was conveyed to him that he was the son of man. Think about this! What if Jesus and Kahlil were both Krishna? What if both Krishna and Kahlil were Jesus?

If you read in detail the lives of all of them they began sounding amazingly similar and like the same fount of wisdom speaking.

Let us take it a step further. Jesus said I will never leave you I will be with you until the end. Of course everyone comes to the conclusion he means in spirit. What if he means he will reincarnate though the end of this age.

What if Jesus, the Buddha, Nostradamus, Rasputin, Krishna, Confuscious, Tecumseh, Edgar Cayce and a host of other personages with seemingly a clear link to the infinite were the same Christos simply speaking through a different form?

I am certainly not telling anyone what they should decide for themselves but it certainly relieves me of a lot of anxiety I see from others.

John you are a man of my own heart. The Essene Gospel is something that was given to me about 40 years ago and it has held a special place. for one thing you realize listening to the holy rollers they have no earthly idea what they are talking about.

It is all over my blog and I don't think I have ever been on a forum I don't not at one time or another mention it or leave someone a link to it. the real teachings of Jesus square up well with Johanna Brandt's grape cure also. Water cleanse and fasting.

I have gone on fasts at one time or another for forty years also and I need one right now.

On this business of war, I am afraid there was never a time it was not ongoing just as Plato said only the dead will see the end of war.

Nature can be cruel on this planet as even in the animal kingdom one species will come and devour the young of another as a food source. I don't have a problem when the strong unite to protect the weak, the problem comes when the strong unite to steal all the shit from the weak. That is pretty much what we have seen in modern warfare.

The east has a long history of warrior priests. Even the monks of a temple are trained in the martial arts to protect their own and their way of life.It is just the way things are on this plane of existence.

Would anyone have a problem with it if someone decided they were tired of watching Palestinians used for target practice and existing on sea birds and onions and moved into Palestine and brought justice? What if a standing army surrounded Brussels and announced they were under arrest for crimes against humanity?

On the other hand when I was drafted during the Vietnam war I never disparaged the protesters. We were all pretty happy there was someone out there with a brain who was trying to do something about it. Country Joe and Fish were our heroes. Here again it was not about the strong protecting the weak it was all about the strong attempting dictate the order of the day.

We are simply watching the entire scenario play out again in the mideast. It is most likely going to end in a nuclear war this time around.
