The God Game in Rama Lhama Ding Dongville.

Dog Poet Transmitting.......

‘May your noses always be cold and wet’.

Greetings Earthlings; I wanted to add a few words as a follow-up to the previous posting here at this blog. There’s a long list of contemporary gurus of large celebrity, with which bizarre, unwholesome and questionable associations have been made over the previous decades. Most noteworthy would be Rajneesh, also known as Osho who had a hundred Rolls Royce automobiles and alongside of which ran men with submachine guns as the vehicle made its way around the properties. From the burning 50 gallon oil drums for condom disposal, to the attempted poisoning of local officials, during the time of the Oregon ashram, to the busing in of Arizona homeless, for the purpose of salting the local vote, there was much to question.

Muktananda had his serial sexual scandal. Satchitananda had one. Maharish Mahesh Yogi had some sort of an accusation about manipulations concerning The Beatles. Hans Ji Maharaj was linked to the head bashing of a Rolling Stone reporter and numerous other hinky procedures of operation. Meher Baba used a Ouija Board to communicate through a veil of silence and said he was going to deliver an important message for the world before his passing. He didn’t; not to say that “Don’t worry, be happy” doesn’t cover that. Big restrictions came in for anyone else using the boards, I Ching or Tarot cards. This isn’t exactly scandal stuff, in this case, but the use of a Ouija Board is certainly suspect and a highway for lower astral entities into ones being to deleterious effect.

People have come around here and said bad things about Paramahansa Yogananda who was about as squeaky clean as it gets- at least I thought so. I haven’t heard anything negative about Ramana Maharshi or Ramakrishna, however Ramakrishna would not be considered contemporary. These days there are a lot of Osho spin-offs in place like Costa Rica and elsewhere of very questionable means of operation. I’ve heard all kinds of things about Bubba Free John, whose more recent names I can’t remember. Though Swami Prabhupada appears clean, the same cannot be said for the seven or so God creatures outlined in the book, Monkey on a Stick, who followed him. That book is a riveting read, by the way, for anyone curious about the God Game in one quarter.

We know about a good portion of the new age gurus, some of which I’ve written about and none of which I am fond of (grin). Pope John Paul Ringo George just got sainted for reasons similar to the recent killing of the long dead Bin Laden. I could become quite exhaustive here if I wanted to, or exhausting but I think I’ve set the stage for whatever I intend to say, as soon as I figure out what that is. First, I want to say that what I have said here is in NO WAY an indictment of these figures, because I believe that is going to be the very point of my spiel today. So please do not come in here with specious justifications and an imagined sense of injury because I am only mentioning well known facts, concerning well known figures, in the God Game.

We’re all gurus one way or another but I am not a guru in the sense that I am not a swami and don’t wear an outfit or have flacks following me around with large Polynesian fans. Not so long ago though, I was involved in a scandal of sorts and some people still seem inclined to believe someone else’s version. Please be patient if you are one of the few who already heard this story. My story can be backed up by impeccable witnesses and even official records in some cases. I will try to be mercifully brief. I had a visitor last summer that showed up and did all kinds of mischief, including groping my consort, who was kind enough to help him when I had finally lost the will to do so. He behaved badly in so many different ways that space constraints must apply for the majority, but upon leaving, he left his laptop. Then he had someone call me from the airport to send it to him there and who also went about justifying the man’s actions as well. I never heard back about where to send it. He (allegedly flew back to Venezuela) and asked me to send it there. Then he said don’t send it because it will cost 450 Euro to do so, which is absurd. Then he (allegedly) flew all the way back to pick it up and I told him he had better think hard upon coming to my house. I left it at the pub at the bus station and he got it and went. He was generally rude and annoying throughout his stay and never once showed any interest in me or even came up to my office while he was there.

I had some ladies here and they were the focus of his antics. Had he once apologized for his actions that would have been the end of it but he never did and he’s done me some amount of harm (I don’t know how much) in the eyes of other readers here who he visited on the way to me, including telling lies to another person, whose company I’m not keen to keep in any case but who hovers around on the border of my existence based on a decades old short period of interaction and who has dark secrets to tell about me, which he wasn’t present for and which never happened in any case. I don’t know what these dark secrets are because they remain just that. I’m not a saint, except maybe in recent times (grin) but I don’t claim to be. Most people will tell you though that the only person I ever hurt, outside of the usual relationship things we all go through, was myself.

You can’t be any kind of a public figure without rumor and innuendo dogging your footsteps. In many cases, these days, in the political and other realms, this rumor and innuendo are not only true but in a seriously minimalized state in relation to the truth. Jesus Christ had people (allegedly) saying bad things about him, so did The Buddha, Krishna and Mohammad. I get people coming in here every now and then to tell me bad things about Gandhi. Do you see where I’m going with this? I’m a “by their works ye shall know them” kind of a guy and I also say things here for the definite purpose of sparking conversation and creating a forum for discussion, which often brings out some surprising interplay. Most of the time, I am not promoting someone but merely wishing them Bon Voyage, or working some angle known to me. Never assume that what appears here is exactly as it appears.

I don’t know the real truth about any of these people, not the whole truth, or the many possible reasons and neither do you. We can be real whitened sepulchers when we get the notion, which is just around the corner from Hypocrisy Central. We’d be a lot better looking to the beam in our own eye as opposed to the mote in another’s, prior to pontificating about who did what where, because someone told me they did or they heard it on TV (thank you John Fogarty).

One of my favorite sayings is, “there but for fortune go you and I”. I may be a work in progress and have never tried to take credit for more but I like to think that I err on the side of reasonable doubt and recognize just how quickly I could find myself in the shit if I were to get pumped up out of proportion to my actual net worth, in respect of the ineffable. What I am trying to say is that we need to be more understanding, no matter how understanding we think we are at the moment. Vested interests on this planet have a way of going after anyone who isn’t in the pocket and not under their control and ancient forces have a way of compromising us against our better intentions for myriad reasons which you can contemplate at your leisure.

I have certain ambitions that I would like to finance or see come into being and I’ve noted every time I’ve tried to do something good that things can go FUBAR on the way. Sometimes I have accomplished these things with the assistance of the usual ten percent of us who make things happen, in opposition to the other 90% who are either indolent or looking to criticize. Being an idealist means always shooting for the manifestation of some brighter dream and taking it in the hindquarters for no other reason than presenting an opportunistic target.

One of the main points of all that is happening in these times is that we need each other and that most good deeds are unlikely to go unpunished. It’s the way of the moment but “for those who win onwards there is a reward past all telling” as another maligned soul, Helena Blavatsky once said. In fact, I’m going to close with her quote because I consider it to be one of the finest and most truthful things ever said; “There is a road, steep and thorny, beset with perils of every kind, but yet a road, and it leads to the very heart of the Universe. I can tell you how to find those who will show you the secret gateway that opens inward only, and closes fast behind the neophyte for evermore. There is no danger that dauntless courage cannot conquer; there is no trial that spotless purity cannot pass through; there is no difficulty that strong intellect cannot surmount. For those who win onwards there is reward past all telling - the power to bless and save humanity; for those who fail, there are other lives in which success may come.” May that become true of you.

End Transmission.......

You continue to amaze me. You dwell on the fact that some asshole got into your space last summer and you let him get away with it. Most guys from our generation learned in high school how to tell other dudes "You need to leave. You need to do it immediatley" and knew how to back it up.

You also had the perfect opportunity last year to engage in a battle with the forces of evil at Chateau Sott. What did you do? You offered a Q&A session for strangers to beat up on you.

As for me...I hope that I can huff some nitrous oxide with Rajneesh and discuss young girls asses, purple elephants and the lastest luxury car models while waiting for the cosmic whatever.

May the Creator protect me from Krishna crap,

Tom frum

PS: If it it's on blotter and has Mr. Natural on it...it's good shit right?

Spoken by someone who clearly has no grasp of the situation whatsoever but is not short on advice regardless. My ability to send that fellow on his way should not be in doubt even if my way of handling it is beyond your understanding or information. You don't know me very well at all.

As for SOTT. It's not my style to get into a pissing match with skunks for the obvious reason which hopefully transmits itself to you.

Those of us who can handle ourselves are not required to grab every opportunity to do so. My reputation concerning such matters active and restrained is a matter of wide public record in the appropriate circles.

Some number of people have no problem being off topic in a fairly uninterrupted way. You shouldn't let it concern you. It doesn't concern me.

Yup. Talking smack about someone without any direct experience has got to be one of the oldest pastimes known - at least since the invention of the ego. "You suck" really means "I need to feel superior to you so let me seek out our points of division(there are none, really) and get to dissing".

Feels like high school sometimes, watching everyone feeding on everyone else like that. I stood on the sidelines and gawked at that spectacle, too, so all of this is quite familiar. Hey, Obama just slayed the bogey man, so he'll have a lot more of the cool kids crushing on him for sure (swoon).

You keep referencing stuff from the bible, Les, and I may have to add that to the stack of books that will likely never be read but are kept around just in case that path is indicated or the EMP leads to boredom. I'll put it between "Morals and Dogma" and "The Secret Teachings of All Ages" since it is nice and thick like they are. The bit about the beam in they eye was from Christ, right? I think me crazy fundie neighbor was hurling that one at me one day.......

I appreciate those who have done the homework and share the highlights as you and so many others here do, as it isn't my way to sit and get studious yet. Hell, I'll never run into a guru in person, so how else would one know of such inspirations? Let's hear more about the good guys for once, and forgive them their weaknesses as they go about doing the best they can in this feakshow.

The quote from Helena Blavatsky tells me that I would like to hear more of her words, even though I know there are those who would likely tear her down as well. It's all about the intuition and resonance, which is what keeps me coming back here in spite of all the horrible things you have done in your life (chuckling).

The fruits are really what matter. Then it just becomes a matter of how much humanity you are willing to put up with from your gurus. One can learn immensely valuable lessons from demons and their doings as well. It is All lessons, innit?

Thanks as always to All

More and more Vis,

Spitting into the wind sure is a LOT less Ego challenging than a pissing match with skunks, at least it's one's own spit, or piss as the case may be.
It may have been Rene Laborit, but someone got a Nobel for showing that the genetics carry the issues of past 7 generations. So at times one is trying to deal with past-life garbage from ones genetic tree, even though the Karma is not for one to release.

Maybe the Dharmic path is to let go, and deal only with what is the Soul scars, the issues with false accusations seem to be an archetypical motif to be resolved by those who are up to it.

Much aprreciated the whole article but the Mdme. Blavatsky quote is making it more Visisble.

Devotee: How can a devotee be free...?

Prabhupada: When he's attracted by Krsna, he'll forget. Just like we are more or less not attracted by these material features because we have a little attraction for Krsna. That's all. So increase your attraction for Krsna; you'll forget all nonsense.

Bhaktih paresanubhavo viraktir anyatra syat [SB 11.2.42]. The bhakti means more realization of God and forgetting this, all this nonsense. That is bhakti. That is the test of bhakti: how much you have become disinterested with this material advancement. That is bhakti, advancement of bhakti. And the... Caitanya Mahaprabhu therefore says, niskincanasya. At last, when you'll feel that "Now I am dispossessed of all this material nonsense," then you make progress. And so long you'll feel "I have got this, I have got that, I am in possession of this, I...," that means your material disease is continuing. When you'll feel that "I do not have anything material," that is the beginning of Bhagavata-dharma.

Devotee: Prabhupada, what is the devotee's greatest enemy? A devotee's greatest enemy?

Prabhupada: He, he himself. Because he's a rascal, he's his greatest enemy. So just get out of this rascaldom, and you become your friend. Nobody is enemy. You are yourself your enemy. Nobody is enemy.

"Sai Baba at least did not need one hundred Rolls Royces and men with sub-machine guns running alongside his car when he drove."

Ah, thank you for making me aware of that and my apologies for the delayed reply. I was unaware of his activities during most of the latter part of his life; this is the true value of open dialogue. I never said I liked Osho or that he's good or bad or what have you. And you asked for a name so I had to oblige. ;)

After some more reading, it's unsurprising to see the controversy surrounding Osho, indeed, this appears to be common for most 'gurus' with few exceptions, such as Ramana Maharshi.

Personally, I don't care for all the usual connotations associated with that term 'guru'. I do not believe that one man can be 'above' another as (what you so wisely said) we are all gurus since we teach each other valuable lessons everyday. You teach me something with everything you write. Everyone who comes here, everyone I interact with is essentially, a guru. We learn from each other for better or for worse. God invariably and inevitably works through all of God's creation which He alone owns.

I do not ask myself who is perfect, who has no controversy, or who is holy and who is not.
I don't agree completely with any one way or with any one person. The questions I ask myself today are: "Who pretends to be something they are NOT? Who is being inauthentic?"

I see some of Osho's followers have been accused of doing things that have hurt others and that is most regrettable, however, everyone is responsible for their own individual actions. Is a 'leader' responsible for all of the independent actions of their followers? We all have free will.

Was Osho being a hypocrite by purchasing x amount of Rolls Royces? Did his own actions run counter to the ideas he espoused? I do not agree with this ridiculous car spectacle which he maintained for a few years, regardless, it did not last. In the end he returned to a plain life of lecturing... but then I suppose his choices were rather limited at that point. lol.

As far as I'm aware, Sai Baba himself never addressed the child abuse allegations brought against him other then by flat out denying it. Unfortunately, I have not seen a satisfactory explanation from him that sensibly contradicts my knowledge and intuitions of that matter.

There is no conclusive proof of whether or not he hurt children, but my perception of Sai Baba tells me that he was pretending to be something he was not. Did Osho eventually succumb to the depths of the human condition and become a horrible hypocrite? I don't know, but I can't help but feel that subjects like these are in many ways, purely subjective.

Here is what I take away from all this: We are gravely and dangerously mistaken if we look
at any human being in the same light that Sai Baba and Osho's followers cast them in. We're
not meant to put each other up on pedestals and exalt one person over another as a superior being. We encourage the best in each other but we do not worship it. We are wrong - and our actions become wrong - when our heart is not in the right place.

I leave these two anecdotes for amusement's sake if nothing else:

Rich Man's Guru Accusation
Just a few days ago I told Laxmi to purchase the most costly car possible in the country. One thing good about Laxmi: she never asks why. She purchased it. It worked—it was a device. Laxmi was knocking on the doors of the banks to get money for the new commune.
We need much money; nearabout five crore rupees will be needed. Who is going to lend that much money to me? The day she purchased the car, seeing that we have the money, banks started coming to her office, offering, "Take as much money as you want." Now she is puzzled: from whom to take? Everybody wants to give on better terms, and they are after her...the day Laxmi purchased the car there was a big article—on the car, not on me!"

Osho and his ninety-six Rolls Royces
There was no need for ninety-six Rolls Royces. I could not use ninety-six Rolls Royces simultaneously – the same model, the same car. But I wanted to make it clear to you that you would be ready to drop all your desires for truth, for love, for spiritual growth to have a Rolls Royce. I was knowingly creating a situation in which you would feel jealous.

For scathing but comprehensive and wonderfully written critcism of Osho which I think applies across the board:
The Enigmatic "Bhagwan," Osho Rajneesh!

Thank you for this forum. I see that while we do not agree on some things, our thoughts are similar concerning certain fundamental elements. I very much appreciate your time and may Cosmic Benevolence bless you this day, Mr. Les Visible.

Beautifully said;

My position has never been to defend Sai Baba. I never knew the man. The teachers I respond to are Maharshi, Ramakrishna, Yogananda and that lineage, Amitabha and of course certain demi god friends of mine.

Quite often I say and do things with no logical basis and without my knowing or understanding why. I play some kind of a part and only part of that is ever made known to me.

I was never fond of Osho or most of the rest of them. I don't hate or revile them. I'm just not attracted. I have a very narrow corridor of attraction and everything outside of that is just something outside of it.

Regarding Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, it is well known that at that time the story was invented by the Beatles' adviser. They needed a good story to come back to the West and continue their business. And as far as I know, it is John Lennon who was mainly at it.

Proof of it?

In April 2009, Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr gave a one time only benefit concert to promote Transcendental Meditation (TM) (http://www.tm.org/blog/people/david-lynch-interviews-paul-mccartney-about-transcendental-meditation/)

Why did they do it if they are supposed to be unhappy with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and TM?

One needs not to be a "conspiracy theorist" to safely assume that there were a lot of fake accusations against spiritual teachers coming mostly from the East. especially if their teaching attracted many people. (Of course, not all gurus are "good boys"! :-)

The point I am trying to make here is that do not rely on the media and news in order to know who is who and who represents what.

Go and see and test it for yourself! And come back and put a new post with your OWN experiences: that will be much more interesting and will have more "weight" to it! :-)

Visible said...

11:41 please read the post again and note the disclaimer which was put there to avoid this very thing. I have no idea what happened with the Beatles and Maharishi and was merely quoting what had been said and making a point not unlike the one you are attempting to make. Please don't waste my time with things like this when I went through such trouble to bypass this very thing.

SS, you're out of here. It's been coming but that puts paid to what is needed here, harmony, not pseudo-intellectual posturing by the wet behind the ears. I've tolerated a lot of things around here of late but I'm not going to anymore. Feel free to call me all the names you like, wherever you choose to take your vendetta.

Lately, strangely, having stayed clear of the so-called rollers guru, I now find great wisdom lies there...it's all rock and roll isn't it but i like it.

Visible said...

You'll have to work that out with me in email. I've been watching closely here of late and I am noticing certain things and contrary to the impression some people might have about me, I'm not in denial about anything and have been massively forthcoming about my shortcomings and all else.

Direct attacks on my personal being under the guise of whatever it is; it not actually making sense is not what I call harmony and I've had my fill of little efforts going on of late and I can sense why they are taking place and I'm not going to allow it anymore. The most annoying is when people don't even bother to read the posts or make assumptions that are directly contradicted in the text. There are only two possible motives here; stupidity cojoined with too much self regard or enemy action.

The point is that I pay careful attention to what people say and when those things are pertinent they find a welcome home in me. When they are a snide type of badgering or any of the other prototypes then I have to look to motive.

Hey Les,

On the topic of Sai Baba I have some small knowledge of the sexual aspects attributed to him.

A good friend of mine went to see him shortly after my return from India. My friend was a young man at the time. In a private interview with Baba he was asked by Swami to drop his pants. At this point Swami "manifested" oil on his hand and told my friend he had sexual blocks. Swami then proceeded to "apply" the oil to his genitals.

When my friend related the story of his interview he related the oil part rather matter of factly and did not seem wierd or conflicted in any way. In fact, that wasn't even the most striking or important element in his time with Swami. To him it was other things "shown" to him in the interview that stuck with him.

I do not recall any one really raising an eyebrow at the oil episode.

When I related the oil story to my best friend who ardently believed Swami was God in the flesh, he said that having God himself jack you off would be the best thing he could think of. I still have to laugh at that to this day.

I was once in the home of Walter and Elsie Cowan. Walter was the one who died in Bangalore and was wearing a toe tag in the hospital morgue when Swami walked in and brought him back from the dead. Many witnessed Swami that night at the hospital in addition to Walter. Another oddity about that night was at the time Swami was with Walter he was also giving darshan hundreds of miles away.

All Walter would say was that when Swami showed up on the other side and retrieved him the sensation was like being flushed down the toilet. Swami told Walter he had work yet to do here.

There are too many stories to relate here. The only reason I'm relating these now is because these were people I know. I have many more stories all from others I know.

I was there and have my own story. The important part for me is that to this day I still don't know what to say about Bhagavan Sri Satya Sai Baba. I don't know who he was, more importantly I don't know what he was. It make me mindful of the maxim that states; "When a pickpocket meets a Saint all he sees is his pockets".

Maybe the lack of an answer states more about me that it does Swami. When I was much younger I was so certain of so many things. Now I am only certain of a few precious things.

Incidentally, Swami is still very welcome to visit my dreams.

I do however find it highly amusing that others seem to be so certain of so much. I suppose a career as a judge is off my list of options.

I like you Les because You possess humility and that alone is a rarity these days. I also greatly appreciate your way with words. It is great fun to read even your inspired rants when outrage seems the only thing to voice.

Keep preaching to the choir because it really means something even if you are unable to properly judge the outcome. Do it for no other reason than it is what you do. We'll keep reading it because that's what we do. A pretty tidy arrangement if you ask me.

Thanks, John O.

Then I suspect something should be done about all the reports of him using a Ouija Board. A Ouija Board is also an alphabet board so I'm not sure what the difference is, possibly the 'Yes' or 'No' and the use of the planchette or whatever it's called.

Anyway, I happen to like Meher Baba a great deal and meant no criticism of him. I just wanted to repeat things I have read and heard to the purpose that tales of ill repute seem to follow so many of these teachers and hopefully the conclusion of my post expressed how I feel about that.

I have this old Apache medicine song going through every time I check you out, but I was never taught to spell it, so you will have to use your imagination (smile).
I don't know why teachers have to deal with the difference between loved ones and students, they are all loved, maybe because the choice is up to them. I do know real friends don't make war against each other, and if more of that was happening, we could sort of settle down, for a while.
I have a little cash, not much, but if we can use it, so be it. Not for me and mine, it doesn't matter. Contact me if you want.

I remember the last time you gave us that Helena Blavatsky quote. It was at a time when I read but wouldn't dare to write. I thought then ... courage, purity and intellect ... a tall order and I certainly fall way short. Mme. Blavatsky appears to have had what was needed to enable her to “bless and save humanity” so why didn’t it happen? Why are we still in such dire straights? Is it that all 3 qualities are needed and nobody is scoring above 2 out of 3? I really don’t know. For those of you who do have these qualities I say, "Go for it! Please!" If there ever was a time, it is now.

Guess I’m feeling an overwhelming urgency in the air these days and all I see is humanity slipping backwards, especially with this whole O-sama-bama-ding-dong hoax appearing to go down so infuriatingly easily with so many people. The problem with this latest deception is not that they did it but what they will do with it. The problem is this might accelerate us into WW3. Or, maybe we’re already in WW3 and we don’t recognize it because it is scattered in a dozen different directions -- world war by a thousand cuts.

Time to buy me some tall, tall speaker boxes and buy the amazing tune, American Women -S W. And play it 24/7.
Seeing how the whole suited up news cyborg are working to close the one U.S. broadcast companydeal, my guess would be now they have Canada locked-in and are ready to pull. All together both the U.S. and Canada's flunky media haven't been able to sell the entire NAU plan. We don't want it.

I myself can't watch these stupid media "shows" very often, only because my million-mile-an-hour flipn'finger gets tired fast.

Now the evermore powerful - (perfect timing) PM Harper is here boy's and girls. But to stay? Is Harper just another U.S. puppet? (swoon) Newly elect PM Harper was described by The Washington Times as ".the poster boy for his ideal foreign leader.

Harper made the Bush crime family very, very happy. He knows he cannot serve two masters.
Either the neo's are gearing for anew major terrorist strike that will only benefit the few at the time they require, or they have to fold.

And the whole bin Laden fiasco!? Les, wow, you holding back? This new binny Hill project must've been created by people who've seen way too many Ghost Buster movies. The major neocortex number of the It's not selling and we know why. The majority know why, it's all a freaking sham.

And yes, some of the reports getting playtime here in Canada show alot of angry Pakistan citizens saying that it is time for America to stop the whole charade and get the hell out.

The bin Laden ghost is for what the election rigging conservatives see as the stupid, redneck goat kissers of the Mid-East and the really dumb, inbred redneck types living in da U - S of A - hole land.

Les, Canada has made its own mistakes. Still, speaking for myself, Canada aspires to a just society. And justice pursued honourably is a more worthy course to peace then merely "asserting might makes right." Candians know better. We know the shitheads we're dealing with. Sometimes you can stand back and let the spinner just tire him/her-self out, only guess who was one of the first guests put on SUNTV (Canada). = Jeb Bush. The lowlife who got his brother George II Florida state coming over here and winking at us like an idiot.

US Ambass David Wilkins once warned Canada not to ever criticize America's intentions or risk long term damage to U.S. - Canada relations. He can go to hell.

So then learning how America thinks it's a toxic attitude that fear can't help but hurt the relationship, - America attempted expansions into Canada six times from 1690- 1820, I say who needs you. Is Harper going to let them go for seven?

"ON GUARD FOR THEE"

America is broke on all levels, losing when it say's it is winning and torturing kids isn't enough for it, the pyscho is again polishing the ol' gun collection.

If I could, I would advise America as an old, yet very cautious neighbor, take that shiney and expensive gun, put it in your fucking mouth and pull.

What essentially is a guru? A special/gifted expert truth teller fueled by pure love? Are we not all that at our essence & we’re finally starting to remember this? I witness many proving to be gurus in their own right here at LV’s blogfest. Truth is apparently as important now as it’s ever been . Some would say more than ever but, who really knows. Breaking the habit of telling others what they want to hear can be hard for a culturally programmed human; recognizing that is what it is seems impossible for many I encounter. There is self disconnection. The guru appears to be outside & oh how we want that connection. I see I must greet the inner guru within to know my truth & peace.
Speaking truth is clearly easier for some than for others. You all continue to inspire me to seek the roots of my truth & to nurture & cultivate it’s growth in the garden of my heart - for that I will always thank you.

"outside of the usual relationship things we all go through"
speak for your self (huge grin).

this guy is my latest 'guru' "Adyashanti". (Im new to this 'newage' line, as Ive snorted too much Pop Fizzle and can see BS a mile away, this guy I like) He commented on the way so many Gurus fall by the wayside in scandals etc, not least in India. His advice was for the teacher not to believe their own press. essentially it is, as you say (oh holy one), how much one trusts one's own intuition, given what information one has about another (the reality is it's mostly projection or displacement of oneself anyhows). Doesnt make any difference to the inidividuals need to get their OWN act together (so to speak which, as words are so crappy and always can and need to be nipped in the bud before they become, as we all do, the label that replaces the real experience of the real thing (as it is perceived).
Starting to get tangled here already like an LA Freeway (cue the Doors), but it really is simple, it being peace of mind, harmony, constructive criticism if needs be, individuality, unity in principle etc... harder to do, easy I would think once one "gets it". It can't be given but also if not for others, like you Vis, I would not have gotten this far lately. You've helped by way of direction, encouragement, appreciation (on my part) etc. Not guru, that label would be doing you a disservice (saying I would not criticise you or encourage you to 'improve' - theoretically or attitudinally as it might come across in these flawed interactions). But there is a danger in those perceptions , affectations, dependencies and (for the rude and obnoxious, demands ("but you said"). I trust you have sufficient and, now, transparent shortcomings ( as far as this blog interface goes) for that much to be obvious (that you are not giving the impression of guru-worthiness or ambitions towards such) , and for no need on your part to too many disclaimers (Lady McBeth). (btw I expect to be third in line for a spanking here and just to make sure - I still think theres a rat up your arse. (hehe) followed in quick succession with an anticipatory OUCH).
You say you're more happy lately, recently. me too over here. you've contribted to that. not all wise with *the* answers, but pointing me in the right direction (Ive only just begun, cue the Carpenters).

Was associated with an ashram in which the local 'head man' had a major fall from grace - much to the disgust of many.
I felt a great deal of sympathy for his situation which basically involved lots of young woman.
Why the sympathy?
Few of us - apart from rock stars - ever have to deal with masses of 'unconditional love' being directed at us and I'm pretty sure that my carnal desires would be well and truly compromised if I were to be placed in such a position.
Much easier - as a test of character - to be relatively unknown, obscure and somewhat unattractive..... ah ..... thank God for humour.
Love to all .... and don't take that as an invitation :)

Thanks for missing me already (please no barking, sensitive ears), but there was actually a misunderstanding - caused by me not living by the 'brevity is the soul of wit' maxim and (at least I tried) going into a gnostic deep end, and missing the mark due to poor aim/lack of clarification.

This combined with LV's desire to maintain harmony and other stuff led to a brief ban.

Well, I don't like censorship probably no more than you do, Les, but one of the things that are good about the comments section on your blogs is that they are relevant to what you have written, mostly. On other such postings in the blogging world, comments are rants, deliberate disinformation and the like, some professionally created, I have personally discovered. I do get the feeling sometimes that those who write on here have not read or comprehended the original article! Wishing your recovery from kidney problems a recent article!

Anyway, in the mass brawl of linguistic nonsense you are a beacon to those who are unfolding at this time. Someone said to me at the weekend, how those people with spiritual egos tend get most upset when their path is questioned or scrutinised! We don't need no third parties anymore, to get in touch with ourselves.

A footnote: I just did the first three template ceremonies a few days ago, you heard about this one? (template.org). Pretty cool I think, sacred geometry and reconnecting oneself.

It may be time for you to go to a compulsary website login name in order to post on your sites.

Also many sites do not allow "Anonymous" or "Name", rather one must have an actual LOGIN name which listed whenever a comment is made.

Billy-Bob-Sue and the other trolls would quickly tire of getting bounced to high heaven - and leave.

I recommend you go over to real LOGINS for all comments.

Having got my nose wet with the drinking of pure water, the Rose Garden is even more in bloom.

Thanks SS. Is that a nick-name?

You are clearly more capable than I, greater intellect and Mind, I ask for your forgiveness, I am still in kindergarden, trying hard to re-collect the memories of those years.

My messages of gratitude to more Vis, for his fothrightness and inspiration that is caused in my process, are not meant to slight anyone on these posts If you have found your self slighted, perhaps you can take advantage of the Spring time in Northern Hemisphere and going through the shedding, the time of Transition, find a way to forgiveness of my uncouth ways. If you found the invitations of a path irritating, then perhaps it is only a question of placing another facet of perception on the matter. In any case should Vis choose to post any further comments including this one please simply turn your gaze away, and have a drink of pure water, we will thus be brothers.

As a Dear Friend said while shaving, there is no such thing as an act of teaching, only the act of learning. Of course he had the advantage of Hanbledzoin.

While my own acts of polishing the mirror of my existence have been admittedly feeble, there is the Hope that if eventually I manage to, paraphrasing the Sage who used a buffalo to get to the borders of the country of his birth, be an infant suckling on the teat of the Universe. With such nutrition !!!! Ahhh, what Force in the polishing !!!!!

At times SHE has offered but I have felt unworthy, so I keep smelling the Rose Garden,

Woof woof from the Dog Nation

Time for the Shiva/Shakti dance?

Pardon my arrogance, I wish you well on your chosen Path, even if I don't fully understand it, but at least I think I'm getting better where you're coming from.

Ghana, thank you. The last time I got it like that was from a jaguarundi from the rez in the Manzano Mountains of New Mexico a few years back.
This is the only forum I am involved with, I was asked last year to leave the SOTT thing by Laura for "not being colinear"- translation: don't even think about trying to confuse rampant speculation with facts.
I left quietly, I think it really deflates some people when there is no escalation of the mean and nasty ego drama. That's not my job, there seem to be plenty of others eager to play that out.

The kundalini thing happened in my early twenties, shortly after, I was invited to catch a gentle ride with a tornado (my friends were surprised at the electrical discharges). The circle may reform again, it never left, just became a whirlwind in order to preserve life. It's strange, but it's home, and not so bad, you get used to it.
I don't get to stay very long in the circles, have to make camp on the edges, that whole wheels within wheels situation is my only ride.

From a fellow Canadian, thanks for putting all that into words. Harper is the bane of Canada's existence and all we can do is watch in horror as he herds us into the NAU trap, all the while gazing adoringly at his zio-masters. (Ever notice how his yamulka fits better than his toque?) I have given up writing to his office with its 2 feet thick brick walls. Now, with the Conservative majority, those walls are at least 10 feet thick.

Les, I understand nothing happens in "one fell swoop" so here's hoping there will soon be enough little swipes to make a swoop.

correction My Mamma We're All Crazy Now was Slade, not Status Quo.
geez, got my witches crossed and now slew slade.

Vis, if that comment of yours was responding to my post (its hard to tell often with you comments what they refer to, but its fun to guess)... yes a spade must be called a spade and cue Dylan, "even Jesus could not forgive what you (they) do". I'm receptive to the Lions not Lambs idea and I feel the rage. Likewise this is your turf.
But that doesnt trump own house in order first (and Im not making any accuations or non-acknowledgements here and I certainly 'aint asking for sugar coatings, my rats comments are along the lines of my best wishes for more equanimity and acceptance, but not for repression of what seems right at the time to you (of course)).

Im putting my nick at the beginning too from now on, it seems a good idea.

What a shivvering and drunken Russian snowman says when you ask him his name.

ps might just add this observation , my 'local' rag had an article on the new improved dead guy - *copyright Vis - half the comments were straight out about the BS of this and the BS of 911. there is hope.

Greetings Les, and friends. I've wanted to comment for several blogs, but the past few of Les's blogs have left me quiet.

I don't know anything about gurus. I don't really think there are any. maybe in Tibet.

in any event, this week has been the week of pure D mendacity. the lies are thick as onions, frying in olive oil with garlic and lots of flour.

it does make me sick, to my stomach to watch my friends, on FB wave flags and drink the kool aid.

well, maybe that wave of nausea is what is affecting your sense of decency? I know it is, mine.

Peace. Be Well. :)

via guru...

Guru is a very special word which like many things in this Kali yuga has been dumbed down and morphed for material manipulations.

How simple yet how incredibly profound and complete is guru.
----------------------------------

Srila Prabhupada:

Yes. Of course, to search out a guru is very nice, but if you want a cheap guru, or if you want to be cheated, then you will find many cheating gurus. But if you are sincere, you will find a sincere guru. Because people want everything very cheaply, they are cheated.

If someone else says, "You may do whatever nonsense you like, simply take my mantra," then people will like him. The point is that people want to be cheated, and therefore cheaters come. No one wants to undergo any austerity. Human life is meant for austerity, but no one is prepared to undergo austerity. Consequently, cheaters come and say, "No austerity. Whatever you like, you do. Simply pay me, and I'll give you some mantra, and you'll become God in six months." All this is going on. If you want to be cheated like this, the cheaters will come.

If you are going to take to spiritual life, you must become serious. How is it that simply by some wonderful mantras, someone can become God in six months? Why do people want something like that? This means that they want to be cheated.

Disciple: Once I remember John Lennon asked you, "How will I know who is the genuine guru?" And you answered, "Just find out the one who is most addicted to Krsna (God). He is genuine."

Srila Prabhupada: Yes. The genuine guru is God's representative, and he speaks about God and nothing else. The genuine guru is he who has no interest in materialistic life. He is after God, and God only. That is one of the tests of a genuine guru: brahma-nistham. He is absorbed in the Absolute Truth.

The real guru is God's representative. He represents the Supreme Lord, just as a viceroy represents a king. The real guru will not manufacture anything. Everything he says is in accordance with the scriptures and the previous acaryas. He will not give you a mantra and tell you that you will become God in six months. This is not a guru's business. A guru's business is to canvass everyone to become a devotee of God. That is the sum and substance of a real guru's business. Indeed, he has no other business. He tells whomever he sees, "Please become God conscious." If he canvasses somehow or other on behalf of God and tries to get everyone to become a devotee of God, he is a genuine guru.
