Inflexible Process and Cultural Decline. Happy New Year!!!

Dog Poet Transmitting......

May your noses be lit up like Rudolph’s this evening to lead all those motorized DWI’s and potential road kill home safely.

I never go out on New Year's Eve and on the rare occasion when I have, I stayed at whatever location I went to. New Year's Eve is Amateur Night on the highways. People race everywhere today and in previous days to buy explosives and related entertainment items for tonight's festivities. I guess if you have kids maybe there's justification and maybe that's the worst reason of all. I've no use for any of that and never have. They're unpredictable to begin with but in the hands of drunken fools, far worse. You Tube will be filled with filmed mishaps from tonight's activity; more so than ever before due to the widespread presence of cellphones with cameras. Be careful and watch out for morons at any speed.

I think this is an auspicious day upon which to discuss something that popped into my mind quite strongly this morning, while shuttling around through town and getting the necessary comestibles for this New Years period. The stores close at 2:00PM here and don’t reopen until Thursday morning. As I was driving I thought about those people going up and down the streets of Everytown in the country of Everywhere. One thing stood out in my thoughts; patterns and how they become habit and then habit becomes inflexible process. Once this happens, life is at an end and whatever remains is just a long drawn out echo, or something shorter.

All inflexible processes have the stamp of mortality on them and are, for the most part, predictable. Why is inflexible process so ubiquitous? It is because civilization is humanities reaction to pain in search of comfort. Once ensconced in habitual inflexible process, composed of a predictable reliability of material consistency, there is little motivation to risk that status in the pursuit of a finer awareness that might require some degree of sacrifice. In fact, we might say that the mind, intentionally sets its perception of reality around the maintenance of that state. Reality is relative to what we want to believe to be true. Recognizing who did 9/11= Israel and collaborating neo-con traitors, along with individuals in strategic positions who acted out of self interest or fear, is a no no. It endangers ones status in the status quo.

We've seen the hitchhikers on the highways and the homeless citizens through the windshield and side windows of the car as we go by, looking like extras sent in from Central Casting as ominous evidence of the possibility that, “This could be you.” ...if you don’t play your cards right and... even if you do play your cards right but... you’re in a no win environment because the soulless corporations, in league with the politicians, destroyed the manufacturing base, shipped the jobs overseas and then the bankers engineered the housing crisis-toxic mortgage scams. Selling these poisonous bundles to overseas banks and investors, along with the NSA debacle have gone a long way to make Israel's bitch a pariah among her allies. This has led to all kinds of unfortunate behind the scenes reactions and alliances abroad but... I digress.

Inflexible processes are not all bad. There are good ones but they lead to a constant exposure to the teeth of the wind. Nobody likes the teeth of the wind, unless you’re some kind of reckless adventurist, or some one who has taken too many psychedelics; not that we would be familiar with anyone like that around here. The teeth of the wind is a testing zone that checks to see if you are a worthy sort that deserves the wind at your back, eventually, wherever it is that ‘eventually’ may be located, should you eventually locate it, or have it locate you.

As we have been pointing out lately, look for more and more of this kind of thing happening as Mr. Apocalypse ups the pressure on hypocrites, high profile miscreants and everyone previously enjoying a place in the controlled spotlight that is now in the hands of another technician, whose intentions are quite the reverse of the previous company man. More and more examples of conspicuous consumption are going to be publicized. Yep, more and more of this kind of thing. There’s even a website that caters to this.

Apropos of this sort of behavior, the term that defines it is decadence; applied decadence. The dictionary says that decadence is “moral or cultural decline, as characterized by excessive indulgence in pleasure or luxury”. Note where it says, ‘cultural decline’. Uh huh. As has often been said here, cultures go through their seasons, just like the weather. By any stretch of observation we are in mid-winter and the dead leaves of former good times, are lying in a frozen muck of rainbow colored oil slick packets, along the gutter of time passing. What follows is the emerging trends and tendencies that accompany the wide gulf matrix of rich vs poor, things like this. Such phenomena are the logical result of the inevitable attempt to transplant Communism as a template over Capitalism, to ensure the necessary oppression of the lower classes in order to provide protection for the conscienceless elite (second link down on the right). This accounts for official policies put into place by ‘owned’ governments. This leads to despicable ironies such as you see here. Lao Tzu would be turning over in his grave if he were dead but... he’s not. The truth of that is on a need to know basis and the determinant of that is if you need to know, you do.

Yup, you can look for more and more irony with every passing day. You see the breakdown in the power of ‘the powers that be going down’ manifested in continuous inexplicable happenings, also containing a modicum of irony. Nearly everything has got some irony in it these days. It’s the carbon and hydrogen elements of our time. The terror tandem of criminal governments in the employ of criminal Central Bankers are in high gear because the more Mr. Apocalypse presses down on them, the more they freak out and spin ever more and more out of control. The same people behind this are behind the explosions in Russia, the conflicts in Libya and Syria and pretty much most places. They can feel that cold wind on the napes of their necks and they should, oh “yesssh precious”.

As we’ve said here many a time, the giant chimpanzee of destiny has begun to fling massive handfuls of shit at the cosmic fan blades in the wind tunnel continuum of time. Well, we didn't actually say it quite like that, nor do I think anyone else ever has either (grin). Here’s some corroborative input. I'm not all that fond of grandstanding personalities but I take what I can get.

I’m hoping that that small segment of the readers who are employed to bend reality according to the wishes of their paymasters, will get a clue and save themselves a lot of typing time. This site has some of the most intelligent visitors on the internet and everyone here has done their homework so, poorly assembled bullshit arguments generally result in hoots of derision and pervasive scorn, over the paucity of professionalism being demonstrated. Make a new year’s resolution not to embarrass yourself or... at least don’t do it here.

Here comes the New Year folks and... like every day, that by grace arrives for our use, a new life is waiting, beyond the restrictions of inflexible process. Rapare Ad Vitam, my friends, Rapare Ad Vitam. Time marches on and eternity awaits. Carpe omnia singula puncta temporis and you could find yourself skinny dipping in the pools of infinity and sunbathing on the rocks of time. “Dig the infinite!”. Every moment is precious and also valuable, according to what direction your inflexible process is heading in. You can easily see those wrong directions of inflexible process, simply by their outcome, if not in present time, certainly in historical hindsight. So what’s the right way? “Walk in all ways contrary to the world”, as one memorable soul once put it. You may have never heard of Jacob Boehme before. There are all kinds of interesting people who skirted the margins of existence on their way to Who Knows Where on the Planet Everlasting. Millions are contemplating how they might rearrange their course in this next year (even if only momentarily). Tap into that motive intent.

Not much more to say so; Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’ll be toasting the memory and presence of all of you this evening, who have made this journey so unforgettable here in virtual space. I think I’ll spend the rest of the day making music; been awhile.

End Transmission.......

I still haven’t been able to get the latest novel manifest in print for those awaiting it. It will come, we are in the final stage of making that happen. Check out James Jancik’s, Feet to the Fire Radio to catch the timing of his upcoming New Year’s radio show. I’ll have a segment on that.

And today, communism, capitalism, fascism after being picked over and any good parts remaining taken out,and the leftover slop put in a mason jar with us and shook up real good (not stirred) so when you fall out who wouldn't be confused?

But we know going in the political circus is 95% illusion, the State held together by a magic act. No more permanent than a soap bubble.
"Get used to change", that's what they told us when the jobs went away. And that's what we'll gleefully tell them when the world is set right again.

I'm like you Vis ....never go out on New Year's Eve...always had to work New Year's Day day prior to my retirement. I think the incendiaries started big time with Millennium (2000)...plus charging to go to common and garden pubs which were always free before this event.....
Happy New Year to everybody.

I'll be in bed out cold if the air filter can't drown out the fireworks and gun shots, during the turning of the year. I haven't celebrated it ever in my adult life, and I'm staring 52 in the face. It's just another day to me. I also don't get along with alcohol. Don't like the taste, don't like being drunk, and it doesn't get much to get me drunk, so I'll stick to the Merlot for cooking. Never mind what I think of crowds.

Well, OK. If I had the choice of being in a crowd or getting ebola, me thinks I'll take the ebola.

As for encounters with 'caged gerbil shooters" (cops), I consider them one of the biggest social liabilities along with banksters, zionists, CEOs and upper management to all the toxic governments trying to kill us after they take all our assets, etc. . ., and I avoid them like the plague, and look right through them when they're inconsiderate enough to be in my viewing field.

Hey Les,

Our so-called 'New Year's Day' has its roots in the Roman Calendar, which was a crazy invention to begin with. The 'geniuses' who developed it tried to copy the Greek calendar but added things to it, supposedly having to do with the timing of military ventures. At first they had New Year's Day in March; then sometime later they moved it up two months to where it is now, which is on Jan. 1.

For several thousand years before the Roman Calendar was concocted, most of the calendars were based on the lunar cycle, e.g. those of the Hebrews, the Babylonians, the Chinese, the Mayans, the Celts, the Greeks, and others. Most of them had the first day of the year in late summer-early fall, some of them had it in late winter-early spring.

Psalm 104:19 says that God appointed the moon for seasons. The Romans were pagan to the core, and one thing that characterizes paganism it that it tries to add something to what God established, i.e. to change it in some way so that they have arcane knowledge that makes them extra special, which is very interesting and appealing to people who don't have a life.

So, if you look at it this way, celebrating New Year's Day is pretty much a farce (same as the rest of the status quo rituals celebrated by people in Western Culture).

Happy New Year Vis and all!!!!!

For years on this date I always said that it keeps getting worse every year so why celebrate? This year... That's not happening. I'm thinking this is going to be the best year I've ever had!

Good!!! Time for a change! :). Enjoy!

Vis: "...patterns and how they become habit and then habit becomes inflexible process. Once this happens, life is at an end..."

I remember various teachers' (including yours) warnings that this was literally why people died. Quite literally.

Our soul is trying to fill itself with all the varied possibilities of life down here. I like to visualize it as the honeycomb structure in a beehive. When we have filled one 'cell', the soul wants us to jump to a different one. Logical enough.

Slight digression. One teacher even gave out an 'Owner's Manual' on how to tell where you were in the filling of a cell:

If you came in to work early and stayed late because you wanted to, were full of excitement around whatever it was, thought about it on weekends, and generally became obsessive-compulsive about it, you were into a new cell. This was the way you were 'supposed' to be.

Contrary-wise, if you came in to work as late as you could get away with and left as early as you could, were a buzz-kill around whatever it was, forgot about it on weekends, and generally were miserable about it, you were in a 'filled' cell. This was also the way you were 'supposed' to be. It was meant to be a signal that the current cell was done. And, a new cell was looming, with all the 'goodie' feelings awaiting. All you had to do was hop over into it...

Digression over. With the above in mind, 'inflexible process' can become a death sentence. Again, literally. If you don't jump, life will feel not worth living. This has consequences. Many people have gotten out of this 'intolerable situation' by just not seeing that oncoming bus, for example.

The soul can actively take a part in this. Once it sees that there is truly no chance that a person will jump to the new cell, it can arrange an exit to end the suffering. There are all kinds of socially-acceptable, not-my-fault diseases (dis-eases) and circumstances to pick from.

When you pick your New Year's Resolutions this year, consult YOUR Owner's Manual. It may save your life...

Best Wishes,
Ray B.

P.S. The harder new cells to find are those invisible to the public or not socially-sanctioned. Many people are put through the wringer before 'chancing' on to the required cell. Don't 'settle'. Call in Higher Self, etc. You'll know...

P.P.S. The above does not pertain to individual events that you hate, like wanting to leave a relationship after an argument, receiving a new assignment that will take a lot of work, etc. It is an overall felt-sense around an aspect of your life.

I like very much how the Vedic day is celebrated at sunrise to sunrise of the next day. Not at midnight.

There's a metaphor in there, among a couple of other things..

"Oh, this smell is Krishna"

Well, it is officially 2014 here and it sounds like World War 3. I just went outside with Poncho and I've never seen anything like it. Boom! Crash! and all the rest. Poncho was not amused, heh heh. The air is thick with sulfur. they must have spent seriously large this year.

I got a TC Helicon Harmony Gx T and a nice guitar stomp box in the mail along with a Zoom R8 (today) so I'm having fun. Many thanks to my mystery benefactor who somehow got my address.

Now I know what it must have sounded like in Beirut. Man it's loud out there.

We're not going to forget this year. It's going to be more trans-formative than any ten over the previous century.

Hang in there!!!

Much love,

visible

my favorite Auld Lang Syne song of all time.

This usually makes me cry but I listen to it every new years. I miss Dan Fogelberg. He was one of the most inspired lyricists around. I miss Warren Zevon and I miss myself sometimes to. I don't know what became of the man I was, probably not much when he never grew up in the first place.

Dan wrote another song called Leader of the Band about his father. You can find it on Youtube. A lot of good people did their best to make our days a little better; see that you are counted among them.

Visible said...

What the heck here it is.

I think this song touched me so much because my father was one of the most brutal men I ever met. Kenny Loggins also wrote one for his father called, "This is it"

Dan died 4 years after that video.

These songs are right up there with Cat Stevens Father and Son. Here is one of the best performances of it he ever gave.

I hope those of you around here tonight/today, will appreciate some of these moments. I'll put up Kenny Loggins song for his father when I can find it.

Kenny Loggins father, not MM's (grin). No, I'm not toasted, anything but, just remembering some things. New Years always makes me think and remember. I'll give you one final tune where the lyrics are just, just incredible, "Foreign Affairs by Tom Waits. Foreign Affairs.

I'd better just go back to playing myself or I'll start getting into Joni Mitchell and that will be too much to bear. Be well my friends! We are on the verge of every good thing that has carrot and sticked our asses to this point. It may be a little rough going and it may get freaky in appearance but we are the essential mindset behind the movie; never forget that. Now I'm going to go dig up Joni Mitchell and The Persuasions (grin).

Couldn't find anything, typical but I'll leave you with this, it's how I feel about you. God bless all of you, you make my life worth living, truly you do.

Be well and God bless you all.

Check out the first comment and some of the others.

for those who think I hate the jews. This one is for Nina and her great work on my last book and her iconic awareness of friendship.

Well, I'll be up all night listening to things like this, it's a tradition with me. I shut the door of whatever room I'm in and I sing along doing harmonies with those who have inspired me.

I wish, as I do every new year, that I could wipe the slate clean with all of those I may have offended. I know what it is that holds others back. I thank the living god that that is not one of my problems. It makes for going forward with a clear conscience pretty easy. I wish others had that same level of forgiveness but I know they will... eventually, wherever eventually may be.

I'll close with my favorite song by The Boss Badlands. actually that isn't my favorite but this way you get two for one. This one is- Thunder Road.

Jeeze, worn-out and energized at the same time. The seduction of music and all it has to say. You took us back the decades when music was music and the heart always came along. And on the tv some female rock star is grinding her pelvis into the camera lens, shoving it into America's New Year's Eve. And it's boring and ugly and I think about The Boss, and his dignity, and Joni, an angel who was arch, as in upper angel, and Dan who understood so well what it takes to love, with nothing held back. And Waits, making sure we know our father's house has many mansions, and some of 'em are so unusual and peculiar. Yet always, he comes back to this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QDj2y9wEnm4

And Bobby, how I loved him, even when he disappointed the mission, even when he fell. Too many stories there; some proven, some un.

Are you sleeping yet, Vis? Still harmonizing with songs, harmonizing with life. Warren knows how it feels and he took our collective sigh and put it here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44Rwu5yPUrc

I'm three hours from midnight. This has been the sweetest evening because of the songs you shared. Maybe there is a chance to rescue back the music, to reclaim its healing honesty. If there's a chance in hell that some rock star somewhere is reading this. . . Do Something!! The emptiness is suffocating. Please save rock and roll.

Happy New Year. Define happy. Okay. Happy: adjective, feeling or showing pleasure or contentment; having a sense of confidence in or satisfaction with a person, arrangement, or situation

And the thesaurus offers: cheerful, joyful, gleeful, carefree, untroubled, delighted, smiling, beaming, grinning, in good spirits, in a good mood, lighthearted, pleased, contented, content, satisfied, gratified, buoyant, radiant, sunny, thrilled, elated, exhilarated, ecstatic, blissful, euphoric, overjoyed, exultant, rapturous, in seventh heaven, on cloud nine, walking on air, jumping for joy, jubilant; on top of the world, tickled pink, on a high, glad, pleased, delighted

Gee, I think we all deserve these. Now I can say it with FULL conviction:  HAPPY NEW YEAR everybody.

Disciple: Srila Prabhupada, you've said that if you glorify Krishna(God), then your heart will become glorious and you'll feel satisfied.
Srila Prabhupada: Yes. This system of civilization is not simply a fashion or a whim. It is for our benefit. By seeing and hearing Krishna(God) glorified, you'll be satisfied. That is natural: You'll feel satisfied because factually you are a spiritual being, part and parcel of Krishna(God).

Srila Prabhupada: So who cares what a rascal believes or disbelieves? For instance, a child may receive some factual information and say, "I don't believe." His mother will say, "You are a rascal. Go to your room."
So rascals may believe or not believe that they will have a next life and they must not slaughter animals. They believe or disbelieve. What is the difference? The next life is part of nature's law. Those who do not believe are mudhas, asses. And in their next life they will go to their room -- Mother Nature will confine them in hog, dog, ass bodies.
